Mr. and Mrs. Walter Woods
held a gathering for family and
friends during the holiday sea-
son.
A family gathering was held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
John Douglas, near Clifford,
for members of the Dickson
family on Christmas Monday.
Mr. Lorne Stewart of Car-
rick Township is confined to
Walkerton Hospital at present,
and we regret, is quite ill. We
hope his condition soon im-
proves.
Sympathy is extended to
Mrs. John Stokes and Mr. Jack
McBurney, on the death of their
father, Mr. James McBurney,
on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Ruther-
ford and family were Thursday
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Johann and sons. On
Saturday the Johanns were guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Har-
tung at Gowa stown.

them thinking different thoughtk
The young fry were thinking,
"Gee, wouldn't that be fun!";
the teenagers, "The big show-
off! He just thinks he's smart!";
the middle-tigers, "Those wild
kids! They'll kill somebody
with that thing!"; and the old-
timers, "Oh boy! To be young
again!!"

Draw is made
at euchre, dance
BELGRAVE—A euchre and
dance was held on Friday eve-
ning in the Foresters' Hall when
euchre prizes were won by,
high lady, Mrs. Carl Procter;
high man, Clarence Hanna; low
lady, Mrs. 0. Campbell; low
man, Mrs. R. H. Coultes play-
ing a man's card; novelty for
second highest, Mrs. Jean Wal-
ker and Albert Vincent.
During intermission the draw
sponsored by the hockey teams
was made. The first prize, a
blanket, went to Joe Thompson
of Goderich; second, auto rug,
Harold Walker, Wingham;
third, travelling alarm clock,
Mrs. Victor Youngblut of Bel-
grave.
Two society leaders in an
African cannibal tribe were dis-
cussing their marital troubles.
"T don't know what to make of
my husband these days," said
one. "Don't let that bother you.
I'll send over my new book of

store asked a job applicant
what he had been doing for the
past few years.

lad.
The manager was duly im-
pressed and put him in the au-
ditor's office. A few days lat-
er the manager passed the fel-
low and asked, "What did you
say your name was!"

Toronto on December 23rd to
Los Angeles to visit the formers
