Very little, was salvaged from the interior of the home. Goforth Evening Auxiliary installs officers at meeting The December meeting of the .Goforth Evening Auxiliary of St. Andrew's. Presbyterian Church was held in the Fellow,. ship Hall, bright with candles and festive decorations. Mrs, T. Henderson was convener of the program committee, and opened the meeting with the in- vocation. The Christmas theme was followed throughout, and sev- eral carols were sung, David Jenkins favoured with a num- ber played on the accordion which was much enjoyed. Mrs. J. Carr read the Scripture from the gospel of Luke and Mrs, M. Scott gave the meditation on the Christmas Story. Mrs, Hen- derson introduced the hymn "Joy to the World" with the reading, "No Room" . Mrs. T. English read the narrative of the birth of our Saviour in a story entitled "A December Night Long Ago". Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Zinn spent Monday with his brother, Mr. Stan Zinn, Mrs. Zinn and family of Woodstock, Celebrating Christmas on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jamieson were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jamieson and family of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Ron- ald Jamieson and family, of East Wawanosh, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jamieson and family of West Wawanosh and Mr. and Mrs. Brian Cameron and Brett of Wingham. We are sorry to report Mrs. Russel Ritchie last week was ad- mitted to Wingham and District Hospital. WHITECHURCH—Chalmers Presbyterian Sunday school held a Christmas concert on Thurs- day evening in the Sunday school room. The pre-school- ers, David Elliott, Donald and Norman Watt were centred around the Babe in the manger while "Away in a Manger" was sung. Their teacher is Miss Barbara Purdon. Wendy Reynolds, primary teacher, had members of her class, Barry Elliott, Robert Watt, Lori Purdon, Linda Moore and Bobbie Ross give recitations concerning the letters in the Donald; Home Helpers, Mrs. L. Raiser, Mrs, W. Gurney; Mission Band, Mrs. L. Phil- lips. Mrs. G, Fish, Mrs. 0. Smith, Mrs, V. Taylor; litera- ture, Mrs. E. Anderson; audi- tors, Mrs. J. Day, Mrs. H. Brooks; nom. committee, Mrs. L. Lunch was served by the committee. Wroxeter Mr. and Mrs. James Atwell of London spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rhame. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fuller and family of Watford and Mr. and Mrs. James Fydell and fam- ily of Ottawa spent Boxing Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Galbraith. Mr. Donald Galbraith of the University of Waterloo is spending the Christ- mas vacation at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Galbraith. The highlight of the program was when Santa arrived and the children crowded around him to receive gifts. It was a very happy event and the teachers of the Golden Circle School wish to thank all who have contrib- uted their assistance. Mary Lou Wall addressed Mr. Watt and Paul Laidlaw presented him with a gift since he had taken the class while Mrs. Emerson was away to the West. Jim DeBoer, in the absence of Wesley Tiffin called on Mrs. Tiffin and she received the ad- dress, and Paul Laidlaw made a presentation in appreciation of Mr. Tiffin's assistance as song leader. Paul Laidlaw addressed Ira Wall, Sunday school superin- tendent and Jim DeBoer made the gift presentation. All, though completely taken by surprise, thanked the Sunday school for thinking of them. Mr. Watt's class had a con- test . On the white, side were Irene DeBoer, Ronnie Hender- son and Harvey Craig; on the blue side, Paul Elliott, Arthur Henderson and Darlene Simp- son. Mr. Watt gave the ques' tier' and the first one ringing the bell and giving the correct answer scored. In the first 5 minutes the Whites had 15 and the Blues 7 . In the next 5miti- utes the Whites had a score of 3 and the Blues 2. A film, "The Coming of the Shepherds and the Visit of the Wise Men", was shown.
