PLUMBING & HEATING
BRAND SPANKING new sweaters on the
Wingham novice hockey club were worn
for the first time on Thursday night as the
team played its first game of the year, los-
ing to Teeswater by a 2-1 score. Peter Hil-
bert scored Wingham's only goal. Coach
Del Ewing, left, and manager Mac Ritchie,
right, are seen above issuing the new
sweaters before Thursday's game.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT
LADIES' LEAGUE
The Violets are still on a
winning streak. They took all
seven points from the Daisies
giving them a good foothold in
first place with 80 points. The
Lillies and Hyacinths are both
tied for second place with 61
points each. The Asters are
starting to climb and are now
in fourth place with 45 points.
The Marigolds are in fifth place
with 38 points and the Daisies
are still in the cellar with 30
points.
Verna Steffler of the Violet
after rolling a game of 78,
came up with the high single of
307. Gwen MacLaurin rolled a
nice triple of 805.

THURSDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
Bill Edwards took all the
honors for the men tonight.
Bill's single was 313 and his
triple was 748. He must have
been saving his best scores for
his last night with us.
The ladies' high single went
to Marg Moffatt with 333. Shar-
on Jones won the high triple
with 682. (Too bad the Turkey
Bowl was last week.)
Thanks go to Leota King who
spared again for us.
Here are the standings:Paul's
Plums 62, Elwood's Peaches 61,
Bob's Bananas 57, Stew's Prunes
46, Bob's Blueberries 45 and
Frank's Figs 44.
FRUIT PUNCH
I hate to say "I told you so",
About the Berries I mean,
But now I think they've made
their move
By canning Stewart's team.
Stew didn't have too much to
say,
He didn't cry or beller,
But I think they'd better pull up
their socks
Or they'll be in the cellar.
Two old girls met at a class
reunion. "What kind of a hus-
band do you have?" asked one.
"Let me put it this way, "an-
swered the other. "If he men-
tions Daisy in his sleep -- he's
definitely talking about flowers.
