HARRIS STATIONERY
All the world loves a lover,
but not a front seat euddler
They say that all the world loves a lover, but that doesn't
mean that anyone in his right mind loves a cuddler behind the
wheel of a moving automobile, observes the Victoria Colonist.
And thus it is surprising how tolerant the police appear to be to-
wards those two-in-one drivers -- two minds with but a single
thought not connected with car-control, two bodies in a single
place -- that most of us encounter so frequently on the streets and
highways.
Sometimes it even seems that such togetherness, although not
always in its extreme form, is the prescribed way for Premarital
young people to travel, so that nothing makes a man and wife feel
so aging and so married as to put some wear on the right side of
the front seat.
There may be some hope in the current vogue for sporty, air-
plane-type front seat arrangements which provide a considerable
central barrier. Youth, though is awfully agile and compressible,
Anne McKercher was one of the performers in the .12A
skit at the Lit meeting which was a take-off on The High-
waymen,
We're seeing in the New
Year by thanking all of you
whose friendship we so
deeply cherish.
We wish you and your loved ones
the best of everything.

Literary meeting
BY LANA RENWICK
Thursday, Dec. 15, set the
stage for our third literary meet'
ing. The Lucknow bus stud-
ents opened with some greatly
revised Christmas carols, fol-
lowed by two unknown visitors
from 1213.
Patricia Currah read this
month's journal, and even gave
us a few tips, (passed on to her
by Mr. Gnay) on the art of car
heating!r.
mKopas was graced with
the honour of having a satire
based upon his daily guidance
classes, by some brave people
from 11B.
Two band numbers were
played by Paul Fleury, Neil
Renwick, John Martin, and
Harvey Mann.
"The Christ Child", a skit
presented by 11C was the win-
ner of the $5.00 prize donated
by the Students' Council. This
award is presented at each lit-
erary meeting for the best skit.
12A introduced their version
of the poem, "The Hyway-
man", followed by the sports
report by Norm Corrin.
One of our well-known
cheerleaders around the school,
Doug Elliott, conducted the
"National Bathroom Tissue,
Unravelling Contest". Natural-
ly it was won by Mr. Scott and
Mrs. Underwood. (Was the rea-
son they won, because Scott
tissues were used?)
12B with their leader, Tar-
zan (Norm Corrin) gave a dem-
onstration of the jungle com-
munication system.
Then with a final word from
Sally Galbraith our last Liter-
ary meeting for 1966 came to
an end.
The one-armed man's whis-
kers were a month old and the
barber was having a rough time
with them. He nicked the man
on the lip, then the chin, and
finally the ear. Then he ask-
ed, "Have you been in my shop
before?" "No," was the sad re-
ply, "I lost my arm in the saw-
mill."
