Meteor lets you power your car
the way you want...with the biggest
choice of engines in its class.
It's the extras we put into Meteor
that make the difference.
Meteor gives you the biggest choice of power in its class.
Pick your engine ... a 240 cubic inch '6' that's great on
economy and performance. Or one of Meteor's five V-8's.
There's a 289 cu. in. that gives you 200 hp. This one is
standard on Montego and S-33, optional on other models.
For extra power, go with one of these V-8's ... a 390 cu. in.
2-barrel that delivers 270 hp.; a 390 cu. in. 4-barrel with
315 hp. ; a 410 cu. in. with 330 hp.; or a big 428 cu. in.
4.barrel with 345 hp. That's Meteor. That's the difference.

BANTAMS
A steady improvement in
this group by the number break-
ing the 100 mark this week.Da-
vid Tiffin was certainly in fine
form as he rolled high single
177 and double 315. Mighty
. fine bowling David, keep up
the good work. For the gals,
guess who rolled the high sin-
gle -- I can't believe it why
none other than Vicki Friden-
burg with 117. Nice rolling,
Vicki -- I knew you could do
it! For the girls it was our most
consistent gal, Marlene Foxton,
who took high double 210.
Breaking the 100 mark were
Bradley Coulter 117, 117, Mur-
ray "Mae" Hunter 103 (you
should see him wink), Bill
Staight 124, 124, Roger Tiffin
156, Cindy Cook 113, Jay Mac-
Laurin 103, Joanne Croski11116,
David Tiffin 138, 177, Dale
Walden 106. Marlene Foxton
102, 108, Bradley Simmons
122, 124.
INTERMEDIATES
Doug Mowbray rolled high
single 241, and John Phillips
put together games of 227 and
230 for a fine double of 457.
Others over the 200 mark in-
cluded Larry Gordon 238, Ross
Caslick 214, Don Rae 206,
Bruce Boyd 211, Rickey Gard-
ner 207, Jim Henderson 231,
213, Ted Ahara 212. For the
girls Barbara Dauphin rolled
high single 190 and 313 dou-
ble.
Only team taking full points
was the Raiders who trounced
the Strikes (who apparently
weren't throwing many strikes).
Bloopers edged Pups 3 to 2 and
Jonp had-the-last laugh on the
Jokers as they sneaked out the
extra point on higher pinfall.

some had trouble getting the

WEDNESDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
Our teams bowled for tur-
keys this week and the winners
are as follows: Wayne Gordon,
Jim Swan, Ken Saxton Sr.,
Jack Gillespie, Andy Lunn, Jim
Caldwell, Diane English, Pat
Angus, Edna Mae Armstrong,
and Betty Hlavach. Hope you
all enjoy the turkeys, gang!

Last week was the last show
for Malka and Joso and their
'World of Music', and it was
the best show they have starred
in all season. It featured their
talent alone; Malka's guest was
Joso, and vice versa, as they
explained at the beginning of
the program. They sang solos
and duets for the entire half-
hour.
They are so fabulously tal-
ented; their music on this show
was from Spain, Mexico, Is-
rael, with a beautiful arrange-
ment of the French song "IWill
Wait For You" from the movie,
"Umbrellas of Chembourg" .
They really shine at this type of
music, and as has been men-
tioned before, they both speak
and sing in a number of differ-
ent languages.
I am sorry they are losing
their show, but somehow, great
talent like theirs did not belong
on a television variety show
anyway. Where they should be
is on a world tour, entertaining
the people who would not see
them any other way. I hope
they are available for a stint at
the World's Fair, though; they
would no doubt receive a roar-
ing welcome there.

Looking at Danny Thomas'
special on Sunday evening made
us realize just how dull our
television variety shows have
become lately. They brought
back the days of burlesque, and
although many people would
argue that we have come a long
way since then, we could nev-
er begin to present now, enter-
tainment that equals that of
the burlesque and vaudeville
days. '
In these days, a television
spectacular usually is lucky if

Team standings are as fol-
lows: Mike's Mules 71; Marty's
Mice 61; Ken's Kougars 50;
Joe's Jacks 41; Brian's Brutes

Marty came back this week
complete with shorts so every-
thing is back to normal.
THURSDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
Marilyn Ritchie really show-
ed her hubby up tonight. Mari-
lyn bowled a 273 for the ladies'
high single and a '101 for the
high triple. Nice going Mari-
lyn.
Bob Brooks won the high
single for the men with 298.
Our able president, Barry Fry-
logic, took the triple honors
with 757.
Our thanks again to Eileen
and Monty Bennett for sparing.
Here are the standings: El-
wood's Peaches 59, Paul's
Plums 57, Bob's Bananas 52,
Stew's Prunes 46. Frank's Figs
42 and Bob's Blueberries 38.
Ten turkeys were awarded
at this annual turkey bowl.
There were four given to the
high bowlers for singles and
triples and six for hidden scores.
Marilyn Ritchie won a turkey
for the high triple and Lorna
Brown won one for the high sin-
gle (of course, Lorna had
somebody pulling for her.) Bar-
ry Fryfogle won the men'shigh
triple and the single went to
Bob Brooks.
The hidden score winners
were all women, much to the
dismay of Elwood. The lucky
girls were Sheila Rintoul, Gail
Holmes, Marg Moffatt, Norma
Bzenzil, Sandra Riehi and Ei-
leen Bennett. Sandra Riehi got
lucky again and won the door
prize.
After bowling and the awards
were given out, the ladies
served a delicious lunch. I'm
sure everyone will agree when
Every evening at a burlesque

entertainment, and it still Is.
And of course, they're not writ-

days, either. The vaudeville
performers really kept you

LADIES' LEAGUE
The Violets were out in fine
form again taking all seven
points to give them a total of
73 points. The Hyacinths in
second place have a total of 59
points. The Lillies in third
place have 56. The Asters,
fourth, have 40 points and in
fifth place are the Marigolds
with 36. Still in the cellar are
the Daisies with 30 points.
