RAIN CAUSES
SHORT IN SWITCH
WHITECHURCH—Just re-
cently the electric lights in
Chalmers Presbyterian Church
shed went out. When new
bulbs and fuses were put in they
blew out too. On investigation
it was found that water from a
two-day rain had come down in
the walls around the choir, loft,
and had shorted the wires at the
choir loft switch. The wall
around this switch was blacken-
ed somewhat with smoke.
AT WROXETER SANTA nearly got swamp-
ed in the crush of youngsters who were
on hand to greet him and to receive the
annual bag of candy. The kids were also
treated a sleigh ride, but a wagon had to
be used because of poor conditions.—A-T.
