Men complain about dames
always being late for dates!
All they do is wait, and wait,
and late again. Well, just be-
tween you and me, they need
to talk. Old Man Winter sure-
ly can't be too bright, I'd ra-
ther be late for an occasion
than arrive too early! He was
not to come until the 21st, but
last week he arrived in all his
splendiferous frigidity and we,
as hosts, were not too welcom ,
ing. The snow blew, blasted
and drifted, and people were
caught without their snow tires.
On, without their snow blowers
'hooked up', and without their
woolies out of mothballs! Okay,
winter, you've had your joke.
Go back from whence you
came and stay there until
Christmas Eve, when you're
supposed to be here. If you
stay, you'll have a lonely
time, 'cuz all us I3elmore Birds
are leaving for Florida, any
day now
Father's lament: "I couldn't
take it any longer, so I finally
washed all the make-up off my
teen-age daughter's face and
pushed back all that hair --
and so help me, I've been
bringing up somebody else's
kid!"
