Gary Jamieson gave the story, "Holy Night", Mrs, Sidney Thompson played piano ac- companiment for four girls and three boys who sang a Christmas chorus. The white gifts were eollea ed by Lori Thompson, Doreen Taylor, Barbara Moore and Dar- lene Coultes. The communion table was covered with a white cloth, An open Bible in the centre of the table displayed a picture. On each side of the Bible was a large lighted candle with holly around the base and in the back- ground of the setting was a white church which made a peaceful scene. Rev. Wilson gave an impres- sive address to suit the special gift service. Send gifts to former members WHITECHURCH-The Mes- sengers held their December meeting on Sunday in the Sun- day School room during church service. The president, Milton Purdon presided and gave Psalm 46 as the call to worship. Chas. Thompson read the Scripture lesson. Prayer was given by Janet Sleightholm. The offering was received by Kenneth Quipp and dedicat- ed by Linda Purdon. The roll call was answered by ten mem- bers. The secretary, Thelma Purdon read the minutes. Linda and Thelma Purdon were given pins for perfect attendance. Gifts were sent to Glenn and Doris Naylor who have moved to Auburn. The juniors were given their story from the book, "Stories for Canada's Birthday" by their leader, Mrs. Sleightholm. Mrs. Dave Gibb gave a story for the seniors from their book, "Blaz- ing Trails in Canada". Both study books are connected with the celebration of the Centen- nial Year. Birthday party, WHITECHURCH-Mrs. Tom Magoffin's family visited with her on Sunday to celebrate her birthday with a dinner and de- corated birthday cake. They presented her with gifts. Present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Don Gray, Bon- nie, Tommy and Donnie, and Mr. and Mrs. Lansley Magof- fin, Linda, Sharon, Gary, Ran- dy and Colleen, all of London, and Mr, and Mrs. Calvin Irwin and Shirley of Oshawa. NEW DOORS FOR CHALMERS CHURCH WHITECHURCH- Arthur Laidlaw put new outside doors on Chalmers Presbyterian Church last week and removed the window above the doors, re- placing it with decorated ply- wood.
