Sunday evening at Harriston
with Mr. and Mrs. Robert

Mrs. Glen NicCharles, Alex
and Brian of Arkona visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mr.. Dave
McDonald. Mrs. Donald Mc-
Donald returned home after
visiting there for two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Morrison
and Mr. Laverne Dowling of
Nit. Forest returned home Sat-
urday from a tha:c weeks' visit
to the west coast. Mrs. Frank
Stockill, Shane and Connie of
Timmins visited for the last
three weeks at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Morrison.
The Mellurney reunion was
held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon McBurney with
about 60 present. Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Nicholson of Preston were
in charge of the game ,. The
reunion next year will he held
at the same place with Mr. Ad-
am McBurney as president and
Mrs. Art Nicholson of Seaforth,
secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Shiells of London will he in
charge of sports. There were
ten relatives present from Cass
City, Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Laidlaw
and family of London visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. El-
roy Laidlaw and family.
Mrs. Ed. Miller of Allan,
Sask. , is visiting for a few days
with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Laid-
law.
Mrs. Clifford Laidlaw is a
patient in Winghatn and District
Hospital. Her many friend ,
wish her a speedy recovery.

Kitchener visited on Sunday

will get possession on the corn-
pletion of Mr. Lloyd's new
house.
Reverend and Mrs. W. J.
Watt, Grimsby, announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Edith Genevieve to Duncan
James Millan Moore, only son
of Mn, and Mrs. T. H, Moore,
Whitechurch. The marriage
will take place quietly, Sept.
6, at the home of the bride.
Allen Small has enlisted
with the RCAF and reported to
Manning Pool, Toronto.
Mr. J. Gooding of Toronto
has purchased the llabkirk bar-
ber shop and took possession last
week,
One third of the Crystal ball-
room at the Royal York Hotel,
Toronto, is being used for the
Fry and Blackball display in
connection with the Furniture
Show that is being held in that
hotel this week, August 25-30.
This enterprising local firm has
on display 14 period and con-
ventional chesterfield suites and
also 20 occasional and easy
chairs.

It is a common thing in a
town like Wingham to see resi-
dents moving away but it is a
very pleasant chore to welcome
one back. The welcome in
this case is to Charlie Deyell,
who has taken over the opera-
tion of the Imperial Oil busi-
ness in this community and dist-
rict.
The University of Western
Ontario proficiency scholarship
valued at $250 has been award-
ed to Barbara Gaunt, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Gaunt of
East Wawannsh.
Wingham will lose its CNR
station agent, Charlie Blythe,
this Monday, when Charlie
leaves for Owen Sound, where
he will be agent at the CNR
station there,
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Rid-
dell, of Toronto, will shortly
move into the home on Blue-
vale Road, recently purchased
from N. J. Welwood.

assist CKNX Women's Editor Anna McDonald in present-
ing fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, hair styling
and entertainment for visitors to the International Plough-
ing Match at Seaforth, October 11-14. Don Robertson
Ranch Boys will present a half-hour program daily, and
six television programs will be presented "live" from the
stage of the CKNX Television pavilion. CKNX Radio will
broadcast "live" with complete ploughing match cove -
age, Marty Adler's 4 to 6 p.m. "teen" show plus most o*
the regular programs.
