The bride and groom of 60 years ago are enjoying reasonably good health and have keen memories of in- teresting happenings of days gone by as well as the present, Mr. Galbraith is still able to drive his car and they enjoy an outing. Both were residents of Or- ange Hill, a small hamlet in Howick Township. Mrs. Gal- braith, the former Grace How- ard, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hamel Howard and Mr. Galbraith was the son of Mr. and Mrs, Bdward Galbraith. They were married at the bride's home on a warm, sunny day by the Rev. C. P, Wells, B, A. B.D. of the Methodist Church. The church was situat. ed on the groom's farm at Orange Hill as was the school house. Their only attendant was a little flower girl, niece of the bride, Gladys Warrell, and following the ceremony they left by train for a honey- moon in Toronto, Hamilton and other points. The first car seen in Orange Hill belonged to a cousin of the bride who came from Tennessee. On their re- turn home they resided on the groom's farm until they retired to Wroxeter in 1966. They have a family of three daughters, Mrs. S. M. (Nellie) Burnell of Denver, Colorado who could not attend this hap- py occasion, Mrs. Reg (Gean) Watson and Mrs. Carson (Al- ma) Watson both of Brussels, and two sons, Ward, of Rich- mond, Virginia and Ken on the home farm at Orange Hill. One son, Howard, died at the age of 4 years in 1916. They have 11 grandsons and one grand- daughter and six great-grand- children. The happy couple received telegrams, cards and letters from the Queen, Premier John Robarts, John piefenbaker, Prime Minister L. B. Pearson, Andrew Thompson, Marvin Howe and Murray Gaunt. They were also the recipients ofmany lovely flowers and cards from their relatives and friends. They had a beautiful three- storey wedding cake and the guests were served tea and cake. Guests were present from Toronto, Lambeth, London, Wingham, Listowel and Gorrie as well as the immediate dis- trict. The couple was happy to have their flower girl of 60 years ago, now Mrs. A. W. Robinson of Lambeth with them for this happy occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Jackson, Catherine and Shawna of Stoney Creek, are visiting with their aunts, Misses Elsie and Marion Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Maple- toft and family of Millbrook were recent visitors with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coates. Miss Elaine Mapletoft remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs, Danny Salter have returned home from a trip through several states of the U.S.A. and as far as Acapulco, Mexico. Mr. David Sanderson, Wind- sor, was a week-end visitor with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Sanderson. Miss Hazel Sparling spent a few days in Goderich and ac- companied by Mrs. Jas. Robert- son and Scott of Goderich, Misses Aileen and Brenda Eaton of Seaforth, spent a day in Bracebridge and Santa's Village, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wareham in Barrie on their way home. Mr. Clayton Coates and Joy, Sarnia, called on his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coates re- cently. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Wilkins and Shelley of Sarnia visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wheeler at the week-end. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Steuernol and family to our community. They have purchased the home of Mrs. A. Wearing. Mrs. Wearing has taken an apartment in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Lath- ers and we are pleased she is not leaving our midst. Mr. and Mrs, Peter Isabelle and baby Sandra of Toronto visited last week with hismoth- er, Mrs. Clarence Clement. Misses Kaye Wright and Lou- ise Edgar of Kitchener spent the week-end at their homes here. Mrs, John Fraser and Mrs. Wm. Simpson of Molesworth spent the week-end with friends in Toronto, Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Charles were Mrs. Myrtle Barker of Melita, Man., Mr. and Mrs. Don Farley and family of Nobelton, and Mrs. Emma Aitcheson of West Hope, N.D. Mr. Terry Clark is visiting his friend, Mr. Dick Allan, in Kingston. Mr. and Mrs. John Cranch and family of Rochester, N.Y., visited Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson and family and also call- ed on Miss Gertrude Bush and Mrs. W. Weir. Mr. and Mrs. George Allan are visiting the former's moth- er, Mrs. Mac Allan. Mr. Al- lanNts attending Bowdoin Col- lege in Brunswick, Maine, U.S.A. for a Master of Arts de- gree in mathematics. Mrs. Paul McCabe of New York and Mrs. Wm. Cullen and family of Toronto are visiting Mr, and Mrs. Clarence White. Mrs. Robt. Montgomery went to Toronto on Friday to join her husband, Mr. Mont- gomery, and attended the wed- ding of his son Quentin to Miss Carol Robertson in St. John's Norway Church on Saturday, August 13, Mr. Malcolm Doig and son Garry of Dundalk visited the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Doig on Saturday. The Ross Tomans visited Mr, and Mrs. Robt. Sage, Atwood, one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Adams and family visited their son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Richard Penner at Nikina. Miss Hazel Sparling spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eaton, Seaforth. Mr, and Mrs. Wes Paulin have returned home from an enjoyable trip through the West- ern Provinces to the coast, Mr. Roy Hunter of Wingham acted as supply manager of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce while Mr. James Al- corn was on vacation. Mr. Clarence Clement and Mr. Rosario Cilia of Toronto and Mr. Holly Clement, Ham- ilton, spent the week-end with Mrs. Clarence Clement. Mrs. Tommy Karshakoff, Toronto, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Cathers, Mr. Alex F. Ross, Ottawa, visited recently with his sister, Mrs. Robt. Montgomery. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hart have been vacationing at their trailer home in Port Elgin. Mrs. Jas. Sanderson has re- turned home from a vacation to the Western Provinces where she visited Rev, and Mrs. A, L. Sanderson at Edmonton, Mr. Jamie Sanderson of Vancouver, her niece, Mrs. Ray Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Kaake also in B.C. Visitors from Friday to Sun- day with Mr. and Mrs. Vern Clark were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Skelton of Scarborough. Mr. Jas. Clark, who has spent his vacation with them, returned home. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ingram were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Noble and fam- ily of Rothsay, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ingram and Sharon of Stratford and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Feaver, Barbara and John of Teaneck, N.J. Mrs. Walter Eaton and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Eaton of Sea- forth visited Friday evening at the home of Mr. John Hupfer. The Ross Tomans spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Bechtel, New Dundee. Mr. and Mrs. Don Wheeler were week-end guests with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dorscht, St. Helens. Walter and Ken Miller of London called on Mrs. W. E. Weir and Miss Gertrude Bush on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Black, Toronto, her mother, Mrs.Wm, Ingram and Mr. Orval Ingram of Fergus visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ingram on Wednesday. U.C.W. Meeting WROXETER—Mrs. George Gibson opened the meeting of the United Church Women held at the church with Mrs. Rae Louttit and Mrs. George Gibson in charge of the worship service. Miss Glenys Gibson played a pi- ano solo, "How Great Thou Art", Paul Higgins gave an inter- esting account of his trip to Europe and showed slides of the many countries he visited.
