She urged members to discard
spoiled food and insist on clean-
liness at all times. She dealt
with foods used by the Jewish
people, Italians, Mexicans,
Himalayans, Chinese and Neg-
roes and closed with a few
points on foods for older people.
Leaders for the fall 4-11 pro-
ject are Mrs. Garnet Farrier,
Mrs. Dave Gibb and Mrs. H.
Jansen.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Geo. Walker, Mrs. Ed. Walker
and Mrs. Tom Magoffin.

Master Chas. Thompson, son
of Mr. and Mrs. George Thomp
son of Whitechurch, had his
tonsils removed on Thursday in
the Wingham and District Hos-
pital.
Mr. George Conn of Toron-
to spent the week-end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace
Conn. Mr., and Mrs. Earl Cas-
lick also visited at the same
home on Sunday.
Mrs. Irene Patterson of Tor-
onto and her daughter, Mrs.
Helen Marpol and granddaugh-
ter Shelly, and son Orland, and
Mrs. Wm. Taylor of Bruce Lea
Haven, Walkerton, all visited
at the home of Mr. Chas. Tay-
lor on Sunday.
Sunday callers with Mr. and

Paul and Brian returned home
with their parents after having
a holiday with their grandmoth-
er, Mrs. Cecil Falconer,
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Evans last week were Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Wernham of
Komoka, and Ted and Karen
Evans and family of Downsview.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Evans spent
the week-end with family and
friends at Hyde Park and Kom-
oka.
Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Pipe
and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coul-
tes visited on Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Coultes and fam-
ily at Dresden.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Gaunt on Saturday were
Mr. and Mrs. Max MacFarlane
of Ilderton, Mr. and Mrs. Jos.
Green of Teeswater, Mrs. El-
mer Wright, Mrs. John Kel-
logh and grandchildren of Ow-
en Sound, and Mr. Donald
Gaunt of Kitchener. All attend-
ed the Gaunt reunion held on
Saturday at Mr. and Mrs. Har-
old Gaunts' , R.R. 2 Lucknow.
There was an attendance of 80
or more.
Little Bradley Smith spent
last week holidaying with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Russel Chapman, and on Sun-
day his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Smith and Cathy called
and took Bradley camping at
Inverhuron for a week or two.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnston Conn,
Mrs. Jim Keene, Betty, Ken-
dra and Penny spent Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. Harold John-
ston at Park 11111.
WHITECHURCki—The Wo-
men's Institute meeting was
opened by the president, Mrs.
Bill Evans, on Tuesday evening
of last week when 38 ladies at-
tended. Mrs. V. Emerson read
the minutes and financial state-
ment and a thank you letter
from Capt. A. Ferris of The
Salvation Army, with special
mention of the efforts of Mrs.
Garnet Farrier, for collecting
$100.00. A note was also re-
ceived from Mrs. Robert Ross,
Mrs. Russel Gaunt announced
that the ladies would be hos-
tesses at the Log Cabin Museum
in Southampton on July 16. Six
tickets will be purchased for the
convention banquet, with each
person paying for her own,
Roll call was answered by 27
members giving a cure fog the
blues. Miss Joan Currie gave a
reading, "When Mother Goes to
the Institute".
The senior 4-H members,
Pamela King, Diane Coultes,
Janis Farrier and Marlene Web-
er gave the skit they presented
at Achievement Day and dis-
played their hats and record
S.S. PICNIC
WHITECHURCH--On Satur-
day the United Church Sunday
School picnic was held by the
lake on the 12th of Ash field. A
good crowd attended and the
day was spent in swimming,
playing games and contests. A
picnic lunch was served and
everybody reported a good time.

Receive Pins
WHITECHURCH--The Mes-
sengers held their meeting in
the United Church Sunday
School room during church ser-
vice.
Milton Purdon gave the call
to worship. The Scripture was
read by Janet Sleightholm. A
prayer was given by Glen Nay-
lor and offering was received by
Kenny Quippe. Earl Thompson
gave the offertory prayer.
The minutes were read by
the secretary, Thelma Purdon
who also called the roll with 12
members answering.
Mrs. Gibb presented pins to
Kenny and Calvin Quippe,
They divided into classes,
the seniors with Mrs. Gibb and
the juniors with Mrs. Sleight-
holm.
WHITECHURCH
Mr. Charles Martin received
a letter from his granddaughter,
Miss Nancy Simmons of London,
who has arrived in Glasgow,
Scotland by jet. She will be
touring Europe for the next few
weeks and will sail home in the
Corinthia.
Mr. and Mrs. Cameron
Simmons of London, Mr. Chas.
Martin and Mrs. E. Scholtz
spent the week-end at Cobalt
and North Bay, returning by
Wasaga Beach to visit with Mr.
and Mrs. Trueman Beatty.
Little Cindy Moore, •daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Moore, returned home on Sun-
day after spending several
weeks with her grandmother,
Mrs. Gertrude Moore of Rivers-
dale.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coultes
visited on Friday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Schwich-
tenberg and family of Port El-
gin.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to
property owners in urban and sub-divid-
ed areas to destroy all Noxious Weeds
as often as necessary in each season, to
prevent their going to seed.
Also after July 30th, 1966, proceed-
ings will be taken to destroy Noxious
Weeds in accordance with the Weed
Control Act.

who were holidaying at their
cottage at Amberley.
Miss Margaret Moore who
has been a patient in St. Jos-
eph's Hospital, London, has
been transferred to Victoria
Hospital. The community
wishes her a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Russel Ross and Doris
spent Wednesday afternoon of
last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Wilford Caslick and family at
their cottage at Amberley.

Adams spent last week holiday-
ing at the same home with

Mr. and Mrs. Vince Mount-
ford of Brampton, and Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Moffat and Heather of
Wingham visited with Mr. and
Mrs, E. Groskorth on Sunday.
