to 7 count. The loss dropped
Wingham into a third place tie
with Belgrave.
Atwood hurler Ron Scholl
struck out fourteen Wingham
batters and yielded only six hits
as well as leading the winners
14 hit attack with a triple, two
doubles and a single. Dale
Long added a home run.
Carl Mowbray paced Wing-
ham with a single and a double.
The ,win all but clinched
first place for Atwood while
Wingham can move up to sec-
ond by winning its last three
games.

A seven run rally in the
sixth inning enabled the Bel-
grave Pee Wees to edge Wing-
ham 9 to 6 in a game played
on Tuesday of last week.
Clete Reiman started the ral
ly with a home run to open the
inning which also included six
Wingham errors. Beiman also
had a single and Glen Walker
added a home run to pace the
winners.
Carl Mowbray was Wing-
ham's top hitter with a two run
homer while Randy llafermehl
collected a single and a double.

years will play host to the Point
Edward Merchants featuring Pat
"Whitey" Stapleton, the Chi-
cago Black Hawks' all-star de-
fenceman, in the Wingham
Park on Saturday, July 9 at
8.30 in an exhibition game.
Also with the Merchants will
be Hugh MacMillan who play-
ed with the Brophy Goodyears
until he moved to Sarnia two
years ago.
The Merchants play in the
Sarnia city league.
Pat Stapleton will be pleas-
ed to sign autographs for the
fans at the game.
