WHITECHURCH--During church service Sunday, Lang- side C.O.C. held their meet- ing in the community hall.The president, Donald Scott, pre- sided. The call to worship was given by Mrs. Charles Tiffin. Prayer was given by Douglas Wall. Robert Bregman gave the Bible reading. The offer- ing was received by Sandra Gardner and dedicated by Rus- sel Young. The secretary, Ag- nes Conley, read the minutes and called the roll, which was answered by 20. Mrs. Conron gave the story from the study book. Mrs. George Young explained one of the parables. President for the next meet- ing, the first Sunday in August, will be Douglas Wall. The C.O.C. choose a new presi- dent to preside each Sunday which greatly increases the in- terest. The meeting closed by re- peating the Lord's Prayer in unison. BELGRAVE—The C.G.I.T. Mother and Daughter banquet was held in the church school rooms on Wednesday. Presi- dent Janette Johnston was chair- man. A toast to the Queen was followed by singing "God Save the Queen" . Rev. Arthur Jack- son said the grace. Between the first and second course a toast to the church was proposed by Mary Ellen Walsh and Rev. Jackson replied. Lat- er Kathy Chandler proposed a toast to the mothers and Mrs. Gordon Rosman replied. Mrs. Henry Pattison proposed the toast to the C.G.I.T. and the girls replied by singing the C.G.I.T. hymn. Judy and Kathy Chandler played two selections on their recorders. Rev. Hope Jackson their home here and Mrs. Clem- ent returned to the city with him, Mr, and Mrs, Ross Coates and Master Ronald Mapletoft spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Coates of Sarnia. Miss Edith Garniss, Mrs. Bert Garniss end Mrs. Lillian Elliott of Bluevale and Mrs, Wilfred Keffer of Ethel visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sander- son, Mrs, Ross Sanderson held open house on Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 in honor of her daughter, Elaine, of Kitchener, bride-elect of July 1, She re- ceived many lovely and useful gifts. Willing Workers Hold Meeting WROXETER--Mrs. John Fras- er and Mrs. Harvey McMichael were in charge of the Willing Workers' June meeting. Mrs. Fraser read Scripture and Mrs. McMichael gave the commentary. Six members and two visitors answered roll call. Mrs. Fraser conducted the study on the Boyhood of Jesus, His baptism and growing into manhood. Mrs. Rae Louttit read the minutes and Mrs. Ross z,ander- son and Mrs. Harry Adams were named to look after the Sept- ember meeting. Members were invited to Mrs. Sanderson's home on Saturday when she was holding open house for her daughter, bride-elecr. The unit will be in charge of the worship service for the U.C.W. meeting in August. The ladies worked on Mrs. Stan Gallaher's quilt and sup- per was served by those in charge. gave the address to the only graduate, Janette Johnston, and Shirley Partison presented her with a gift. Audrey Coultes made an ad- dress to Rev. I-lope Jackson and presented her with a farewell gift from the girls. Mary Ellen Walsh played a piano solo. Joyce Coultes introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. George Ball of Ripley, a member of the teaching staff of Wingham District High School., She re- lated some of her adventures as a C.G.I.T. leader and some of the problems involved in the business of growing up. The speaker was thanked by Rhonda Fear. Brenda VanCamp sang "The Lord's Prayer" , accompanied by Joyce Procter. Over 50 Orangemen paraded on Sunday morning to St. Hel- ens Church. The service was sponsored by L.O.L. 324 Dun- gannon. The Scripture was read by Chaplain Lorne Hasty. Rev. A. E. Willis was guest soloist and delivered the ser- mon. Members of various lod- ges were in attendance. Visitors during the week with Miss W. D. Rutherford were Mrs. R. Levitt of Guelph; Misse Bessie and Flora MacLennan of Perth and Mrs. Joe Magnusson of Spy 1-1111, Sask. Mr. Herb Shopland of Ed- monton, Mrs. Mamie Rawed and Joseph Salkeld of Goderich were recent visitors with Mrs. W. I. Miller and Isobel. Sympathy of the community goes to the Aitchison families in the loss of their sister, Miss Hannah Aitchison.
