Port Elgin. Mrs.JohnMcKague
of Teeswater, soloist, sang "Un-
der His Wings". The choir was
comprised of friends from the
community, and organist was
Mrs. Alvin Mundell.
The pallbearers were Mor-
ley, Everett and Wilfred Johann,
Harvey and Elmer Ballagh and
Bruce Darling. Floral tributes
were carried by Elmer Jeffray
and Kenneth Dickson.
Interment was in Wroxeter
Cemetery.
James B. Dickson
BELMORE-James B. Dick-
son passed away early Sunday
morning at his home in Carrick
Township. Death came sud-
denly to Mr. Dickson, who was
76 years of age.
He was born in Toronto, a
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James Dickson, and was a farm-
er in Carrick Township. He
was a member of Belmore Pres-
byterian Church.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Annie Darling; four
sons, Kenneth, George, John
and Ralph, all of this area;
three daughters, Mrs. John
(Stella) Douglas, Mrs. Russell
(Jean) Field, both of near Clif-
ford, and Mrs. Ivan (Alice)

Intosh Cemetery were conduct-
ed Tuesday afternoon by Rev.
G. L. Fish of Wingharn.
Jas. T. Craig
James Thomas Craig, father
of Melvin Craig, Bluevale, died
in Clinton Public Hospital on
Monday. Mr. Craig was 81.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Sarah Anne Cham-
ney; sons, Arnold and William,
both of Auburn and Melvin of
Bluevale; and a sister, Mrs,
David Dow of Toronto.
The funeral was Wednesday
afternoon at the Arthur funeral
home in Auburn with burial in
Colborne Township Cemetery.
Richard D. Plant
GORRIE-Richard Daniel
Plant, 16, died Tuesday June
7, at Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, as a result of an accident
while at work. He was the eld-
est son of Stanley and Violet
Plant, 514 Phillip St., London.
He is also survived by sisters
and brothers, Linda, Donald,
Jacqueline, Susan, Jeffrey,
Mark, Lori and Tammy, all at
home; his grandparents, Mrs.
Percy Everett, London and Mrs.
Nelson Plant of Gorrie.
Service was held at the Lo-
gan funeral home, London on
Friday. Interment in Mt.
Pleasant Cemetery.

Psalm for Busy People".
Mrs. B, Hargrave read an
article on a service for Palm
Sunday which was used in the
church of Rev. J. C. Caley in
California. Rev. Caley was
minister here 20 years ago.
Mrs. Hargrave also read
about the people of the Yukon
and the work of Bishop and Mrs.
Marsh. Rev. Jenkins gave a
humorous reading, "Etiquette
in the Church", and gave the
closing prayer.
A quilt will be quilted at
the next meeting.
Mrs. Wm. Hawksbee of Lis-
towel showed slides of her re-
cent trip to California. Mrs.
Peter Brown and Mrs. Elsie
Demerling served lunch.
HAND INJURED
FORDWICH-Miss Anne
Simmons, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lyle Simmons, received a
severe cut to her first finger of
her right hand while attending
Howick Central School. While
carrying an aquarium it seem-
ed to explode. She was taken
to Palmerston Hospital where
several stitches were needed to
close the gash.

A CERTIFICATE OF MERIT, the third to be
awarded by Branch 180 of the Royal Ca-
nadian Legion, was presented to the man-
agement of the Stratford Memorial Co.
Ltd., on Sunday afternoon. The firm
donated the new memorial at the local
cemetery. Accepting the award from
Legion President Willis Hall is Bert Pret-
ty, president of the company, and Jim
Shackleton, secretary-treasurer, George
Brooks, formerly of Wingham, now em-
ployed by the firm and a past president
of the local Legion Branch, looks on at

Henry Johann
BELMORE-Henry Johann, of
Belmore, passed away at Wing-
ham and District Hospital on
Monday, June 6th, following a
lengthy illness.
Mr. Johann, who celebrated
his 80th birthday on May 6th of
this year, was born in Minto
Township, Wellington County.
He was a son of the late Chris-
tian Johann and Sophia Ortman.
On June 29th, 1910, he married
Jessie Gallaway of Howick
Township. She predeceased
him in September of 1954.
A farmer in early life, he
later owned a general insurance
business, which he operated in
Belmore for twenty years. He
retired in 1960.
He was always very active in
church and community work
and was a senior elder of Knox
Presbyterian Church here.
Mr. Johann is survived by
two daughters, Miss Mae Jo-
hann of Belmore and Mrs. Ross
(Edna) McKague of Turnberry
Township; one brother, Otto of
Owen Sound; two grandchildren,
James and Phyllis McKague.
He was predeceased by two
brothers and one sister.
Funeral service was held on
Wednesday at Knox Presbyter-
ian Church. Rev. Gordon Fish
of Wingham officiated, assist-
ed by Rev. Maurice McNabb of
