Messengers
BELGRAVE--The Messengers
met during the regular hour of
service on Sunday. Scripture
was read from St. Luke 9. The
theme was "Putting our hands
to the plough". A hymn was
sung, followed by prayer.
The offering was received by
Janice Coultes and dedicated
with prayer. Story time was
taken by Mrs. Wilfred Walker
and Mrs. James Lamont. The
chi' !ten made a card for a
1 'er who had an accident and
then made and colored the new
flag.

Mrs, Alvin Mundell spent
last week in Toronto attending
the annual Council meeting of
the Presbyterian Women's Mis-
sionary Society, at Ewart Col-
lege.
Our congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. Mac Inglis on the
birth of another son, last week
in Walkerton Hospital,
The village is pleased to
welcome Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Stapleton to its midst. Mr. and
Mrs. Stapleton moved last week
to the home formerly owned by
William Struthers, and recently
occupied by Mr. and Mrs. W.
McCauley.
Master Wayne Ballagh was
able to return to his home on
Saturday, after being a patient
in hospital for a week following
a tractor mishap. We are glad
to see him back, and thankful
that the accident was not more
serpus.
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Has-
kins of Lions Head spent the
week-end with Mr. and Mrs.
Len Metcalfe and sons. Also
spending a few days at the same
home is Mrs. Laura Gowdy of
Wingham. On Sunday, mem-
bers of the Metcalfe family
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Mac
Metcalfe and family, near
Mildmay.
Mr. and Mrs. John D. Ait-
ken and Mrs. Bella Aitken, all
of Walkerton, were Sunday
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Johann and sons.

Huron County Kairos Young
People held their regular meet-
ing in Wingham United Church
on Saturday with a good at-
tendance.
Dr. Jack McKim of Luck-
now presented the topic "Abor-
tion, Contraception and Ille-
gitimacy"' . This proved to be
quite informative as well as be-
ing extremely interesting. Cer-
tainly the group is breaking the
ice of a few of the social prob-
lems by discussing these mat-
ters with someone well versed
on the subject. It is hoped that
everyone got a few of their
puzzling questions answered.
The next meeting will be
held in Seaforth on May 27. A
film, "The Coffee House" will
be shown. Everyone is asked to
take a friend.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Durst,
Judy, Jerry, Jamie and Jackie,
of Bay Ridges, visited with Mrs.
Durst's parents on Mother's Day.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Watson of
Blyth and Mr. Percy Ashton of
Gorrie, visited Sunday at the
same home. •
Mr. and Mrs. Vern Jacobson
of Guelph were week-end visit-
ors with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ja-
cobson.
Mr. and Mrs. Ian Pitten-
dreigh and little daughter, of
London, spent the week-end
with Mr. and Mrs. George Pit-
tendreigh.
Mr. Arthur Forster who has
spent the past six months at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Ross
Tomlin and Mr. Tomlin in Fort
Erie, returned home last week.
Misses Maud and Esther
Harding of Toronto spent the
week-end at their home here.
Miss Karen Carswell, nurse-
in-training in Victoria Hospital,
London, spent the week-end
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Carswell.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gibson
and family visited Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. N. Baetz in Elm-
wood.
Mr. and Mrs. George David-
son of Mitchell spent Sunday
with Misses Louise and Letitia
Matthews.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll John-
son visited Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. George Hunt, in Palmer-
ston.
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington
Hargrave and sons visited Sun-
day with Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Reid.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stewart
and little son, Jeffrey, were in
Toronto where the latter was
taken to Sick Children's Hospi-
tal to remain for several tests.
Mrs. Norman Harding and
Mr. John Harrifield are confin-
ed to Bruce County Hospital,
Walkerton and Mrs. Wm. Mar-
riner is a patient in Palmerston
Hospital.
Mr. John Gamble of Palmer-
ston visited Sunday with Mrs.
Ruby Forester.
