Mrs. Clarke Sharpin is act-

Postmaster Jack and Mrs. Clarke
are at the postmasters' conven-
tion in Sarnia.
Mrs. Jessie Koch, Miss Ha-

fer were in Kitchener on Sun-
day where they visited at the
home of the former's aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Milne.

James Duncan McKinley died
on May 4 in Winnipeg General
Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Funeral service, conducted by
Dr. C. Earle Gordon was held
at the A. B. Gardiner funeral
home at York. interment was
in Garry Memorial Park.
Mr. McKinley was born in
London and received his educa-
tion in Wingham and London.
He moved to Manitoba in 1903.
He spent his entire career with
the Canadian National Rail-.
ways.
Mr. McKinley was Past Mas-
ter of Prince Rupert's Masonic
Lodge and was Past Grand Pur-
suivant of the Grand Lodge of
Manitoba. He was a life mem-
ber of all bodies of the Scottish
Rite of Freemasonry. He served
as Thrice Puissant Grand Mas-
ter of the Lodge of Perfection
in 1934, and was appointed
Honorary Inspector General of
the Supreme Council of Canada
in the same year. Mr. McKin-
ley was also Commander-in-
Chief of the Manitoba Consist-
ory from 1951 to 1953, and was
a member of Khartum Temple
of the Shrine. Being active in
the Order of DeMolay since its
inception, he served as a mem-
ber of the supreme council of
DeMolay for 15 years.
Mr. McKinley was also a
member of St. Andrew's River
Heights United Church for many
years.
Predeceased by his wife
Marion, in 1963, he is survived
by one sister, Mrs. J. S. Carr
(Jean), of Toronto, two nieces,
Mrs. Gordon Keith of Toronto
and Mrs. Dan Bishop of Lake-
land, Florida.

Wilson, George Cowan, George
Findlay, Doubles Robb, R. W.
(Bert) Cameron, W. D. Hurst,
Paul Graham, Walter C. Mc-

J. Donald Grant, Harold L. Or-
ris, John H. Restall, and Wil-
liam A. Hardie.

Dies in London
Friends in this community
were saddened to hear of the
sudden passing of Mrs. Roy V.
McLean, R. R. 4, Petrolia in
Victoria Hospital, London on
Sunday May S. She was in her
52nd year.
Mrs. McLean will be re-
membered in the Belgrave com-
munity as Audrey Hawkins,
daughter of Rev. Walter B.
Hawkins, former rector of the
Anglican churches at Belgrave,
Blyth and Auburn. Since her
marriage she has been a fre-
quent visitor with relatives in
the Belmore-Wingham area.
Besides her husband she is
survived by her mother, Mrs.
Walter Hawkins of London; two
daughters, two sons, two grand-
children and five sisters and a
brother, Mrs. Reg (Margaret)
Dunham, Mrs. Ford (Alice) Mc-
Murray, Thomas Hawkins, all
of London, Mrs. Isabel Master-
son of Detroit, Mrs. Glen
Marshman of Byron and Mrs.
John (Elizabeth) Cahill, S.Bur-
naby, B.C.
Funeral service was held in
Petrolia on Wednesday. May 11
with interment in Hillsdale
Cemetery, Petrolia.
Mrs. Alvin Safi
Mother of Six
Friends in Wingham and dis-
trict were saddened to learn of
the death of a former resident,
Mrs. Alvin Seli, in Stratford
General Hospital last Thursday,
May 12, following a Short ill-
ness.
Mrs, Sell was the former
Jessie Elizabeth Jarvis, daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Archibald Jarvis of TeesWater.
She was born in Culross 43 years
ago. She married Alvin Sell et
the Presbyterian Church manse
in Wingltam, November 20,
1943 and lived in Winghain
ter her marriage, The family
had Moved to R.R. 2 St. Paul's
only a few melds ago,
Mrs. Sell is survived by her
husband and six children, Sus-

Robert 10, Ronald 9 and Janet
5; a brother, BeIlar Jarvis of
Teeswater and two sisters, Mrs.
Fred (Margaret) Holmes of Lon-
don and Mrs. Allan (Ruth) Mc-
Lean of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Rev. Gordon L. Fish con-
ducted service at the R. A. Cute
'le funeral home Saturday af-
ternoon and burial in Wingham
Cemetery. Pallbearers were
Glenn Sinnarnon, David Croth-
ers, Bob Irvine, George Brooks,
Lloyd Elliott and Bill Hogg.
Flower bearers were Mike Wil-
lie and Lorne Gardner.
The Ladies' Auxiliary to the
Royal Canadian Legion, Branch
180, held a service at the fun-
eral home on Friday evening.
Mrs. Sell was an active mem-
ber of the auxiliary when she
lived here.
Rev. Clysdale
Minister 54 Yrs.
Rev. Fred Ernest Clysdale,
82, minister of Methodist and
United churches in the London,
Hamilton and Toronto confer-
ences, died Sunday in St. Jo-
seph's Hospital, London.
Mr. Clysdale was supply
minister on the Port Lambton
circuit beginning in 1906. Or-
dained in Stratford in 1911, he
served at Methodist churches,
and after 1925 in United church-
es, in Fordwich, Exeter, At-
wood and Ridgetown.
Mr. Clysdale was minister
at Thorndale before moving to
London in 1950 to become sup-
ply minister. He conducted
services for two summers at
Hyatt Avenue United Church.
Four years ago he celebrat-
ed the 50th anniversary of his
ordination,
. He is survived by his wife,
the former Florence K. Mills;
daughters, Dr. Judith Brigham
(Mrs. N. Burnett Magruder),
Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Claud
(Evelyn) Turner, London; sister,
Mrs. Thomas (Annie) Nichol -
son, Sarnia; brothers, Dr. Earle,
Alvinston; Arthur B., Court-
right; Keith I3,, , St. Marys.
Service was at the A. Mil-
lard George funeral home, Lon-
don with burial in Blyth Ceme-
tery yesterday.

Funeral service will be held
at the R. A. Currie & Son fun-
eral home this afternoon (Thurs-
day) at two o'clock for Mrs.
Melissa J. Watters who died
Tuesday in Wingham and Dist-
rict Hospital following a long
illness,
She was horn in Belmore, a
daughter of the late George and
Esther Wynn.
Mrs. Watters was married in
Wingham June 13, 1906. Her
husband predeceased her in
March 1920.
Rev. C. M. Jardine of Wing-
ham United Church, of which
deceased was a member, will
officiate at this afternoon'sser-
vice and interment in Wingham
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be
Wilford Caslick, Charlie Lloyd,
Gordon Buchanan, Ross King,
