Life Underwriters
Meet in Clifford
The Saugeen Life Under-
writer's Association met at the
Four Aces Restaurant in Clif-
ford on Friday with members
present from Durham, Hanover,
Walkerton, Lucknow and Wing-
ham.
Membership chairman Gor-
don Raeburn reported an in-
crease in membership.
Gordon Watt, director of
field services of the National
Life Underwriter's Association
of Canada, was introduced by
William Kinahan of Lucknow.
He said membership in the Na-
tional Association now exceed-
ed 13, 000, representing more
than 70% of all full time Life
Underwriters in Canada.
The national association is
striving to have regulations en-
forced whereby all underwriters
would be required to pass a
qualifying examination before
receiving a license. It is the
general consensus of opinion
that such a regulation would
help ensure more competent
service to purchasers of life in-
surance,
The Saugeen Association will
support the Central Ontario
Sales Congress to be held in Oc-
tober, Arrangements were made
to meet with the Owen Sound
Association May 13.
