Farrier and Winnifred of Toronto also visit- ed with the Farriers and Brian Farrier, who had visited with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Higgins, returned to Toronto with them. Mrs. Walter Arscott, Val- erie and Andres spent Easter week in Toronto and Misses Bernadette and Patricia King and Brian and their father, J.C. King, returned home with them for the week-end. Bernadette, Patricia, Brian and Mr. King returned to Toronto on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss, Susan and Janie of Plattsburgh were Sunday visitors with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mc- Clenaghan and Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan. Miss Mary Lou Wall spent the Easter holiday with her sis- ter, Mrs. George Needham and Mr. Needham and family of Pinkerton. Mr. George Conn and friend Toni of Western University spent Thursday and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn, Mr. and Mrs. Johnston Conn spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forster of Lucknow. Mr. Stewart Scott of Lang- side was a Sunday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn. Mr. Charles Leaver was in London on Friday visiting with his sister, Amelia Leaver, a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Melville Bee- croft of Otterville visited Sun- day with his siter, Mrs. Hector Hamilton and Mr. Hamilton of Carrie and with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft and family. Mr. Ronald Beecroft left on Monday to attend the body and fender course being held in the Technical School, London for the next 10 weeks. Mr. Jim Ross of Kitchener spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ross. Mrs. Gibson Gillespie cele- brated her 84th birthday with a few friends calling Thursday af- Golden Hour Soc. Annual Meeting WilITECIWRCH—The annual meeting of Lucknow Young Peo- ple's Golden Hour Society was held in the Whitechurch ball on Friday evening. Many com- munity songs were enjoyed and prayer and a welcome were given by the president, Martin Cretier. Gary van Oenen gave an es- say, "Teenagers and Jesus Christ". The poem, "Say Nothing", was given by Liyie Cretier. Elizabeth Kloostra gave the secretary's report, The treasurer's report was given by Sipke Bakker and roll was call- ed by Martin Cretier. A play, "The Lost Game", was presented. A skit, "Gossip" was given by Sipke Bakker, Thys Kloostra, Dick Askes and Gent de Jong. A trio, Dixie Cretier, Eliz- abeth and Thys Kloostra sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and Elizabeth Kloostra gave a reci- tation. A trio, Bryan Bakker, Thys Kloostra and Dick Askes gave a number. Jokes were given by Gert de Jong. The Federation song was sung, The representative from Con- sistory and youth leader, Ben Malda, gave a report. Closing prayer was given by Rev, Lie- verdink. Weekly Euchre BELGRA VU—The Weekly eu- chre club had five tables in play last Wednesday. High lady was Mrs. Alex Leaver; high man, John Spivey; novelty lady, Mrs. Gershom Johnston; novel- ty man, C. R. Coultes; low lady, Mrs. Fred Cook; low man, Frank McCormick. Mr,. and Mrs, A, tqlekton.fr, and daughter Karen of Toronto visited over the holiday week- end at the house of Mr, and Mrs, T. Mrs, Dowling visited at the home of Mr, and Mrs. T, Morrison on Sunday. BIRTH EMERSON—In St. Catharines General Hospital on Sunday, April 17, to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, a daughter. Miss Muriel Moore of Wes- tern University is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Nirs Millan Moore. Next week she returns to the University to write exams which will bring the year to a close. Students will then go to their summer positions. Mr. Kenneth Neable spent last week with his sister, Helen, at London who brought him home and spent the week-end here. Mrs. Cameron Simmons, Nancy and Ronnie of London visited here with her father, Mr. Charles Martin, and with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Simmons of Wingham. On Thursday evening while visit- ing with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, Ronnie was stricken with appendicitis and had to undergo surgery ar Wing- ham and District Hospital on Thursday. Mrs. Simmons and Nancy returned home to Lon- don on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Gros- korth spent the week-end in Toronto where they attended a Canada Packers convention. Whitechurch United Church has chosen June 12 as the date ternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Garnet Farrier. Mrs. John Haggitt celebrated her 81st birthday on Sunday at the home of her brother, Victor Emerson. A half grown muskrat was found in the bus garage of Mr. Ernest Beecroft on Sunday eve- ning.
