Monday evening the Wing-
ham Squirts played host to
Mount Forest in a W, 0,A.A.
playoff hockey game. Mount
Forest topped the locals 5 to 4
to win their best of three set in
two games straight.
Wayne Cherry led the visit-
ors with three goals and, an
assist while Tommy Lee paced
Wingham, scoring all four
goals.
Peter Reeves opened the
scoring at 1.35 of the first per-
iod with Cherry and Aitken as-
sisting. Less than three min-
utes later Allan Kirkpatrick
scored another for Mount For-
est finishing off a play started
by Aitken. At the seven min-
ute mark Lee put Wingham on-
to the score sheet scoring his
first goal on a pass from Steve
Caslick. There were no penal-
ties in the first period.
Mount Forest took a two-
goal lead again in the second
period on a goal by Cherry with
Aitken assisting at six fifteen.

seconds remaining in the period
John Weber fell en the puck in
the Mount Forest goal crease
and a penalty-shot was awarded
to Lee. He pulled the goalie to
the left and slipped it into the
open right side to tie the game
three to three. There were two
penalties in the period; Rodger
Tiffin of Wingham at 10.30
and to Mt. Forest's Aitken at
12.45. Both penalties were for
tripping.
Lee moved Wingham into
the lead for the first and last
time scoring on a pass from
Caslick at 10.22. Cherry scor-
ed two minutes later with as-
sists going to Reeves and Web-
er to tie the game again. Two
minutes before the final whis-
tle Cherry scored his third goal
and the game winner. The
final goal was unassisted. Lee
and Reeves each picked up
minors in the last period for
tripping at 4.55 and 8.55 res-
pectively.
FINAL RECREATION
ASSOCIATION EUCHRE
BLUEVALE-The last euchre
party of the season sponsored by
the Bluevale Recreation As-
sociation was a fine success
with 18 tables in play.
Prize winners were high
scores, Mrs. Jack Thompson
and William Taylor; low scores,
Mrs. J. J. Elliott and Gordon
Wright; novelty prizes, Mrs.
B. H, Moffatt and Lloyd Tay-
lor.

with 243. Shirley also took the

The "over 300" bowlers for the
season were Shirley Storey,
Ruth Lott, Dot Cameron and
Maxine Taylor for the women
and Jim Bain, George Camer-
on, Gary Storey, Tom Cruick-
shank and Ernie Walker for the
men.
And now for the playoffs,
and if the Alouettes, the Ti-
Cats or the Bombers can come
through with some good games,
as they have done during the
season, it wouldn't surprise me
to see one of them take the
playoffs. Good luck to them
all!

MIXED LEAGUE
The Corvairs have moved
out in front in the playoffs,
with a total pinfall of 2839; the
Comets 2510; Buicks 2456;
Pontiacs 235'7; Fiats 2253, and
the T-Birds 2189.
The high single for the la-
dies, went to Betty Lee with
292 and Betty filavach picked
up the high triple with 556.
For the men Bob Sanderson had
a 293 single and Bob Angus had
the high triple of 720.

MEN'S TOWN LEAGUE
Hartley Watson had the high
single with 321, followed up
by Mac Ritchie with 312 and
Ross Gordon with 300. Mac
picked up the high triple with
853.
The Mercurys are still on
top with 126, but the Jumpin'
Jupiters have shortened the lead
down to two points, with 124;
Moon Doggies 100; Explorers
94; Appollos '74 and the Gem-
inis 70.

LADIES' LEAGUE
There's a bit of excitement
in the air, with only two more
nights of regular bowling.
Eva's Collies are in the lead
with 114 points, Bea's Hounds
and Elva's Spaniels are tied for
second with 112 points. Barb's
Poodles are in third place with
86 points, Jean's Shepherds
have 83 points and Edna's Ter-
riers 81 points.
Verna Ste filer bowled the
high single and high triple with
286 and 707.
THURSDAY NIGHT
MIXED LEAGUE
Marilyn Ritchie was high
lady last week with a 321 sin-
gle and a 660 triple. Matt
Boyd had the high single for the
men with a 321, and Ray Wal-

The Alouettes and Blue
Bombers were really after one
another tonight, as neither team .
wanted to be in last place. Af-
ter all that work they ended up
tied. The Stampeders won first
place for the season with 153
points; second, the Argonauts
with 110, but they really had
to bowl to keep ahead of the
Rough Riders who were right on
their tails with 105. The Ti-
Cats, who seemed to be dogged
with some tough luck through-
out the season, came up in
fourth place with 96 points and
the Alouettes and Blue Bombers,
as shown above, tied for fifth
