by the Pee Wee team, in Bel-
grave, opposite that team. Our
boys came out on top '7-4.
A large crowd attended a re-
ception and dance held in the
f3elmore Community Centre on
Friday evening, in honor of Mr,
and Mrs. Ken Weber, the form-
er Eva Dale McNee, Miss Doro-
thy Hohnstein read an address
and Miss Connie Cameron pre-
sented the couple with a gift of
money. Both Ken and Dale ex-
pressed their thanks. Tiffins'
Orchestra played for dancing,
and lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mul-
vey of Fergus, Peter and Lori
Goodall of Wingham, Mrs. Torn-
ny and Stephen of
Scarborough, Miss Carol Haines,
also of Scarborough, Mr. and
Mrs. W. A. Cathers of Wrox-
eter and Mr. and Mrs. Sterling
Haskins of Lion's Ilead, were
week-end visitors with Mr. and
Ars. Leonard Metcalfe and
Days.
Mrs. Harry Helfenstein and
twins, Robert and Suzanne, of
the 2nd of Culross spent a few
days last week with her mother,
Mrs. Jean Muir, at Sarnia.
Mr, and Mrs, John Tyler of
St. Marys spent the week-end
with her mother, Mrs. Adam
Darling, of Carrick Township.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cam-
eron spent the week-end in
North Bay, where they visited
with the former's mother, Mrs.

family attended the Saturday
wedding in a Guelph United
Church of Constable Jack Hark-
ness. Misses Kaye and Barbara
Harkness, sisters 9f the groom,
were attendants.
Mr. T. E. Penfold of Lon-
don Bible College, was guest
speaker at the Presbyterian
Church on Sunday. The Senior
choir sang a special number.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bron-
son and family of Elmira spent
Sunday with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Rowland Ballagh.
Final arrangements. are be-
ing made for the observance of
the World Day of Prayer. The
first Friday of Lent, February
25, has been set aside for ser-
vices which will unite Christian
women in 15s countries and
areas. Locally, services will
be held in Knox Presbyterian
Church, Belrn ere , at 2 p m ,
under the convenership of Knox
Women's Missionary Society.
Other churches participating
will be McIntosh and Belmore
United. Miss Lavonne Ballagh
will be the speaker. All wom-
en in the area are invited to at-
tend.

Yearly Economist Says
BELMORE--The February
meeting of the Women's Insti-
tute, with the theme "Citizen-
ship and Education" was held
last week with a good attend-
ance. Mrs. Alvin Mundell was
the convener.
The roll call, "one duty of
a good citizen", met a variety
of answers. The women agreed
that each citizen should exer-
cise hii right to vote, obey the
laws of the country, help his
neighbor, and take more inter-
est in politics. Mrs. John Ruth-
erford spoke on the motto,
"Every time you help someone
up the ladder you are nearer
the top yourself."
Mrs. Mundell introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Donna Mae
I Holm of Walkerton, home
economist for Bruce County,
who spoke on Home Manage-
ment. She displayed a flip
chart, showing how housewives
could better organize their
homes. She said that if a hous&
wife were to he paid minimum

Valentine Party at
Belmore School
BELMORE—Because of the
mild weather, a Valentine
skating party that had been
planned by pupils at Belmore
School, had to be cancelled.
However, the children held a
very successful Valentine party
in the School on Friday after-
noon, with their mothers and
pre-school brothers and sisters
as honored guests,
Musical numbers and recita-
tions were enjoyed. Various
contests and games w ere played,
one of them, "It's Your Move",
with the mothers throwine heart
and soul into it to entertain the
'kids'. Five girls, Ann Holm-
stei.i, Snaron Cameron, Debbie
Darlene Ballagh and
Ann Dietrich performed a pi,,v ,
"The Arithmetic Fxam". Lunch
was served to bring a wonderful
afternoon to a close.
