Word has been received here
that Mrs. Jack Maclntyre of
Wingham, Mrs. George Tiffin
and Mrs. Cecil Falconer who
accompanied their brother, Mr.
Hector Purdon and son to Cali-
fornia, arrived back in Sarnia
on Friday. Mrs. MacIntyre and
Mrs. Tiffin returned to their
homes but Mrs. Falconer re-
mained in Sarnia with Mr. and
Mrs. Relison Falconer and fam-
ily.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hender-
son, Sherry and Lois of Listowel
were Friday evening visitors with

tended a Canada Packers meet-
ing on Saturday. They visited

ed here with them for a visit.

GORRIE--The 25th annual
meeting of the Gorrie and Dis-
trict Red Cross Society was held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Wade on Saturday af-
ternoon. The president, Alex.
Graham, presided. Rev. II. D
Jenkins led in prayer.
Minutes of last year's annual
meeting were read by the sec-
retary, Mrs. Norman Wade and
the financial report was given
by Mr. Cameron Edgar. Last
year was slightly below the
quota which is $500.
Rev. H. D. Jenkins presided
for the election of officers.
They are as follows:

tes attended the teachers' meet-
ing in Turnberry Central School
where a representative from On-
tario Hospital told of work in
occupational therapy.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coultes
returned on Friday after a few
days visit with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Coultes and family of Dres-
den.
Mrs. Tom Morrison returned
on Wednesday from Timmins,
where she visited with her
daughter, Mrs. Frank Stockhill,
Mr. Stockhill and family.
Master Lawrence Norman is
a patient with pneumonia in
Wingham and District Hospital.
The community and school pals
with him a speedy recovery.
After visiting for three
months with his aunt and uncle,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Mr.
Edward Mirehouse left by train
on Sunday for his home at Big-
gar, Sask.

Board met Thursday evening at
the home of Mrs. Doris Willis,

Mrs. Garnet Farrier. Mrs. Geo.
Fisher, chairman, presided.
Mrs. Willis, secretary-treas-
urer, read the minutes and fin-
ancial statement which showed
receipts of $428,02 and expend-
itures of $218.70, leaving a
balance of $210.22. The 27
families holding membership
read 1,180 books.
Mrs. Willis and Mrs. Mac-
Donald reported on the meeting
for librarians and committees
in Kitchener last October.
Two minutes of silence were
held in memory of Dustan Bee-
croft who had been a faithful
member of the board.
Officers for 1906 are Mrs. G.

STYLETTES
WHITECHURCH— On Mon-
day evening the Stylettes met
at the home of Miss Sandra Fish-
er, The president, Pamela
King opened the meeting and
Diane Coultes read the minutes.
The roll call was answered by
the six members telling about
their tie dyed scarfs and one ex-
hibited hers, which she had
completed.
Discussion was held on
achievement day, selection and
care of hats and shoes. The
making and blocking of head
size ribbon was demonstrated
and members completed all
their samples for the record
book. The hostess served lunch.
