Fox Bounty
To Continue
CODERICII—County council
rejected a move to discontinue
the bounty on foxes, and at the
same time instructed the clerk
to notify municipal clerks that
all ears must be clipped from
foxes.
Reeve Grant Stirling, Gode-
rich township, voiced a suspic-
ion that not all local clerks are
clipping the ears from foxes
submitted for bounty.
Reeve Procter, Morris, said:
"Rabid foxes should be destroy-
ed, and I don't think we should
discontinue the bounty. Pelts
in the summer are of no value:
Reeve Dalton said nobody is
going to take a fox in summer,
when be can get it in the fall
and collect $17.
'WM. McKenzie, Athfield
stilted, "We get as many in the
summer att any time, but we
are not interested in the pelts.'
Clerk-treasurer Berry ex-
plained that the bounty is $4 of
which is recovered from the
province. The total paidrnigh
be $1, 000 or $2, 000 in a year.
The recent open season for
deer suited Ellwood Epps, of
Clinton, who wrote saying he
sold $1, 000 worth of licenses,

Pressuring
Disliked by
Clinton Reeve
GODURICII—The reeve of
Clinton dislikes the Huron sys-
tem of eleeting wardens, es-
pecially "pressuring" of other
members by the candidates. In
a brief to county council 00
Wednesday, Mr, Thompson pro-
posed the adoption of secret
balloting,
The brief was sent to the
warden's and personnel com-
mittee "for discussion," the
warden said.
"As a new member In 19111,"
Reeve Duff Thompson said, "I
