Hear Annual Reports, Guests at Foster Home FORDWICH—Trinity W.A. met at the home of Mrs. Ruby Foster with the president, Mrs. E. Strong in charge. An Ad- vent hymn and prayer were fol- lowed by the Christmas story as told in St. Luke, read by Rev. Jenkins. Mrs. Ferguson read the meditation from the Living Mes- sage. Roll call was answered by 13 members and two visitors with a verse on Advent. Annual re- ports were given with all reports encouraging to the members. Christmas greetings were re- ceived from Mrs. Anderson. Mrs. Elsie Demerling gave the study. A donation was given to the General Fund. Rev. Jenkins read a Christ- mas story, "The Gift of the Magi" and then conducted the election of officers: Pres., Mrs. E. Strong; vice-pres., Mrs. E. Fraser Pollocks Are Honored FORDWICH—A presentation and dance was held in the com- munity hall on Friday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Pollock, when friends from Gor- rie and Wroxeter joined with those from Fordwich and pre- sented the young couple with a purse of money. Miss Doris Carswell read the address and Dave Inglis made the presentation. Fraser and Dawn Lou thanked everyone. Little Laurie Dinsmore, 5 - year -old daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Dave Dinsmore, was con- fined to Palmerston hospital with a gland infection, Mrs. Stan Bride is spending a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Riddell at Lindsay. Miss Glenna Hibberd of Kit- chener spent the week -end at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hard- ing were Kitchener visitors one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Pollock of Brockville were week -end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Har- old Pollock. Miss Sharon Pol- lock of Kitchener also visited with her parents over the week- end. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Chamney and Harold, Mrs. Jessie O'Gor- man and Wally Gibson visited one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Welsh in Toronto. X-ray Program Members of the Huron Coun- ty Tuberculosis Association vot- ed to establish a 'Pre-employ- ment', 'Pre -retirement' X-ray program in the county at a meeting in Clinton Thursday, E. R. Knight said there had been 244 appointments to regurr-- lar chest clinics since the last meeting. One Huron, County resident had been admitted to �. sanatorium. President G. A. Watt ptesid,. ed at the meeting. Miss Louise Robertson, the Education Chair- man, reported that along with regular educational materials sent out to industries and medi- cal personnel in the county, a number of pamphlets and re- spiratory system charts had been sent to teachers. It was decid- ed that the booklet, "TB --The Road to Eradication", be sentto every public school teacher in the county. Add Travelling 3asket To St. Anne's Program FORDWICH—St. Anne's Guild met at the home of Mrs. Gladys Vittie for its Christmas meeting. During the study period Mrs. Sothern read the Collect for the second Sunday in Advent, and Mrs. Browne read a chapter from the study book, "Love for Fellow Men". Roll call, "A thought on Christmas" was an- swered by 22 members. Rev. Jenkins was present. The president, Mrs. Browne, thanked the members for their support in the past year, and hoped it would continue in the coming year. A motion was made that Guild members take over the responsibility of World Day of Prayer for the W.A. After a business discussion motions were made to continue with talent money, birthday boxes, secret pals, and to have a travelling basket this year. Rev. Jenkins read an inter- esting and amusing story, and members signed a Christmas card for Mrs. Attwell and Mrs. Anderson. Rev. Jenkins offered the clos ing prayer, and Miss Elva Fos- ter conducted two contests. Af- ter an exchange of gifts, lunch was served by the hostess and Mrs. Alma Hargrave, assisted by Mrs. Sothern. THE WELDING CLASS at WDHS night school has a good registration this year and is being taught in the boys' oc- cupational shop.
