Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. In the mean- time wash and core apples. .Add 3 apples to the ,hot liquid. Cover and cook until just tender, about 12 minutes. Turn to cook uniformly. Remove apples from sprup and cook remaining apples. As they are cooked, remove apples to a pan or casserole. Remove syrup from heat. Soften gela- tine in the 2 tbsps. water and add to hot syrup; stir to dis- solve gelatine. Cool. When syrup begins to thicken spoor over .apples and into cavities. Chill. Serve with pork, lamb or poultry. Yield -6 servings.
