AROUND THE FIRE HALL
The members of the Wing -
ham Fire Department met on
Monday evening. They decid-
ed to hold the Muscular Dystro-
phy canvass a little earlier this
year. They will collect from
October 5 to 9.
The winter socials for fire-
men and their wives will begin
October 20. The firemen will
hold church parade on October
24 and will attend the service
at the Wingham Baptist Church
in a body.
Committees were drawn up
and the officers appointed last
year were re-elected to office.
A number of fire phones
were knocked out in the storm
last week as well as the fire
siren. Dave Crothers stood by
at the fire hall so that in case
of calls he could blow the truck
siren to summon the brigade.
And once again, how about
writing down the number for
the fire hall so it will be handy
in case of emergency? The
