—Constable Jack Parkinson,
Mrs. Parkinson and Lynn of Mil-
ton spent the week -end with Mr.
and Mrs. Cy Robinson. Mr.
Robinson suffered aheart attack
Saturday morning and is now a
patient in Wingham & District
Hospital but we understand is
improving. The Parkinsons at-
tended the Mundell-Morrey
wedding on Saturday.
--Mr. Hugh McMillan of De-
troit and his daughter, Agnes,
of Cleveland, also Mrs, Mary
(McMillan) Menesee of Okla-
homa City and Mrs. Miles Mc-
Millan of Teeswater, visited
over the week -end with Mr. and
Mrs. John Moir. Mr. McMillan
and Mrs. Menesee lived near
Lucknow some years ago and
will be remembered by many.

the Order of the Eastern Star of

Mrs. Scott Reid was the of-
ficial delegate from Huron Chap.
ter, and Mrs, Farish Moffat as-
sisted the committee on elec-
tions.
On Friday evening Mrs, Rea-
vie was installed as Grand Elec-
ta of the Grand Chapter of On-
tario for 1965-1966.
John Wharry who is attend-
ing Pine Hill Divinity Hall at
Halifax, N. S„ received an Es-
tral award on Tuesday evening
for the second year, when 96
awards were presented. Mr.
and Mrs. William Wharry and
Mrs. Harvey Webster of Luck -
now attended Tuesday evening's
presentations.
OSBORNE SISTERS
ARE WINNERS
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hod-
gert, Exeter, accompanied by
Mrs. Edward Osborn and the
three Osborn sisters Jane, Janet
and Joan, step dancers ofMonk-
ton, attended Western Fair on
September 13, when the Osborn
sisters competed in the step
dance competition. Jim Hend-
erson, Seaforth, took first prize,
Joan Osborn, second prize, Jan-
et Osborn, third prize and Jane
placed seventh.
Pocock -Godwin Vows
Baskets of flowers and can-
delabra decorated Knox Presby-
terian Church, Galt, on Sep-
tember 1, for the wedding of
Lynne Mary Godwin, daughter
of Mrs. Wilfred Godwin of Galt
and the late Mr. Godwin, and
Wilfred Raymond Pocock of
Galt, son of Mrs. Walter Po-
cock of Wingham and the late
Mr, Pocock.
Rev, R. A. Jackson officiat-
ed. The soloist, Peter Harris
of Galt sang, "Lord's Prayer",
"Because" and "0 Perfect Love",
accompanied by Ewart Bartley,
also of Galt.
Ross Godwin gave his sister
in marriage. She wore a floor -
length, White silk faille gown
with fitted bodice appliqued
with lace, sabrina neckline and
short sleeves. The skirt was
bell shaped in front with a full

chapel train added interest,Her
headdress was a band of crystal
and seed pearls and alencon
lace from which fell a tiered
veil of silk illusion. She car-
ried red roses and white carna-
tions.
Miss Marilyn Tawse, maid
of honor, and Miss Judith Bar-
ker and Miss Janice Hall,
bridesmaids, wore formal length
gowns of royal blue brocade
with scoop necklines and short
sleeves. Their gloves were
white and they carried bouquets
of white carnations and mums.
Best man was Norman Po-
cock, brother of the groom of
Chatham and ushers were Ken-
neth Godwin of Preston and Koos
Fieste of Kitchener.
The bride's travelling en-
semble was a royal blue wool
suit with black accessories and
a corsage of pink and white car-
nations. They went to Lake Pla-
cid and other points of interest
in the United States on their
honeymoon and will live at 586
Dundas St., Galt.
Prior to the wedding the
bride's mother was hostess for a
trousseau tea when she and the
bride -elect received the guests.
The groom's mother served
tea from a tea table decorated
with red roses. Assisting with
refreshments were Mrs. Joseph
Racz, Mrs. Stanley Hall and
Mrs. Lyle Boughner.
The trousseau was shown by
Miss Marilyn Twase, Miss Jan-
ice Hall and Miss Jo -Ann Mc-
Quay.
Other functions before the
wedding were a linen shower
with Mrs. W. Daniels as hos-
tess and a linen shower given by
Mrs. Twase, Miss Hall and Miss
Judith Barker. Mrs, Carl Haw-
kins and Mrs. Lyle Boughner
were hostesses for a miscel-
laneous shower attended by 35
figure skating friends, and the
groom was presented with an
electric mixer by office work-
ers in his place of employment.
Discuss Prayer
At Goforth Aux.
The Goforth Evening Auxil-
iary held its monthly meeting
in the council chambers of the
Wingham Town Hall. Mrs. S.
Forsyth opened the meeting with
a call to worship, followed by
prayer by Mrs. J. Donaldson.
The minutes of the June
meeting were read by the sec-
retary, Mrs. H. Bateman. The
offering was received and dedi-
cated by Mrs. C. Chittick.
Mrs. K. McKague introduc-
ed the topic of the meeting,
"Prayer". Interesting articles
and discussion on prayer were
given by Mrs. J. Donaldson,
Mrs. R. Arbuckle, Mrs. G.
Cruickshank, Mrs. G. Sutclif-
fe, Mrs. G. Smith and Mrs. C.
Chittick. Mrs. 1. Ostrom, ac-
companied by Mrs. B. Feagan
sang "The Lord's Prayer".
A Bible quiz was conducted
by Mrs. K. McKague and Mrs.
G. Sutcliffe. Subscriptions to
The Glad Tidings were accept-
ed and orders taken for the 1966
church calendar. A closing
prayer was repeated in unison
and a social hour was enjoyed.

wards returned home Sunday
from a three weeks' trip to the
East Coast where they visited his
brother, Mr. and Mrs, J. S.Ed-
wards at New Glasgow, F.B.I.

land of Brantford visited on Sun-
day afternoon with Mr. and Mrs.
L. D. Balser and family.
—Thursday visitors with Mrs.
D. S. MacNaughton were Mrs,
W. E. Hainstock, Mrs. Frank
Forster and Mr, Robert Connell,
all of Fordwich.
—Miss Nancy Slosser, Reg.
N., of Tillsonburg is spending
a few days with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Lee Slosser.

A Centennial
Special for S.A.
Special services will be con-
ducted this week -end at The
Salvation Army by Captain Ar-
thur Creighton, formerly with
the Red Shield services and Can-
ada's N.A.T.O. forces in Ger-
many. Both Captain and Mrs.
Creighton are graduates of The
Salvation Army Officers' Col-
lege in Toronto. Previous ap-
pointments have been in Sud-
bury, Montreal, Winnipeg,
Bowden, Alberta and at the
present time Captain Creighton
is chaplain at The Ontario Re-
formatory, Mimico.
Mrs. Creighton is a gifted
vocal soloist, and will be ren-
dering solo items in both Sun-
day services. Saturday night a
Married Couples' group will
hold a social evening when the
Creightons will show slides of
their work in Germany.

tended the funeral of her aunt, ,
Mrs. W. E. Remion at Uxbridge
last week. Mrs, Remion was
organist and choir leader at
Trinity United Church for over
30 years.
--Ann Balser, daughter of
Mr. and "Mrs. L. D. Balser met
with an unfortunate accident
Monday evening last week while
playing in the yard when she
fell and broke her leg. She was
able to return home from the
hospital Friday afternoon.
--Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Lloyd,
Mr. Jack Lloyd, Mrs, Norman
Welwood and Mrs. Jim Hamil-
ton attended the 50th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Bosman in Leamington
last Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Davidson of
Vancouver returned home with
them to spend a week.
—Mrs. Charles Doll, Sus-
anne and Peter went to Hamil-
ton on Sunday to join her hus-
band who has been employed
there for some time. She was
accompanied by her mother,
Mrs. Fred Ohm Sr. and Mr. Bill
Stephenson of Brussels.
—Mrs. Annie Wallace of Ed-
inburgh, Scotland, visited last
week with Mrs. Walter Pocock
and on Tuesday they went to
Lambeth to visit with Mr. and
Mrs. George Pocock. All at-
tended the mum show at Port
Burwell. They returned home
Wednesday.

Married in Walkerton
Father Kaufman officiated
for the wedding of Joyce Anne
Waechter, daughter of Mr. and
Mts. Arthur Waechter of Wal-
kerton and Earl Leo Weber, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. E. Weber,
R.R. 3, Mildmay on September
18.
The bride wore a formal
gown of peau de soie styled with
natural waistline, scoop neck-
line, lily point sleeves, bell
skirt and midriff appliqued with
Swiss guipure lace. A wateau
panel from the back neckline
fell into a chapel train. A crys-
tal tiara held her headdress and
she carried red roses, stephan-
otis and fern.
All attendants were gowned
identically in peacock blue
patterned taffeta with scoop
necklines, elbow -length sleeves
and long sheath skirts with back
fullness. 'they carried pink and
white mums. Joan Waechter
was maid of honor and brides-
maids were Mrs. Betty Doerr,
Miss Marilyn Waechter, Misses
Doreen and Ruth Weber,
Cathy Doerr and Laurie Fisch-
er, as flower girls, wore em-
pire line long white organza
gowns with peacock blue sashes
and a bow with streamers at the
back. They carried pink and
white mums.
Alfred Weber was best man
and the ushers were James and
Don Waechter and Robert and
Morris Weber.
Dinner was served at the
Hartley House and the recep-
tion and supper were held in the
Formosa Community Hall,
The bride wore a gold bro-
cade ensemble with black ac-
cessories for their wedding trip
to the United States and Alber-
ta.
