Dies Suddenly
WROXETER',-Funeral service
was held at the Moir funeral
home on Tuesday for Mrs. Alex-
ander
lexander Wright, who died sudden•
ly at her home here on Satur-
day, September 18.
The former Margaret Jane
Finlay, daughter of the late
William Finlay and Rachael
Montgomery, was 79. She was
predeceased by her husband.
Four daughters and a son sur-
vive, Mrs. Allan (Laura) Mun-
ro and Mrs. Leslie (Margaret)
Douglas of Wroxeter, Mrs. Wm,
(Irene) Lowe of Gravenhurst,
Mrs. Gordon (Vera) Greig of
Petrolia and William of Wrox-
eter. There are seven grand-
children.
Mrs. Wright is also survived
by a brother, Melvin Finlay of
Gorrie.
Pallbearers were Harold Fin-
lay, Stewart Higgins, William
Simpson, Nelson Bender, Frank
Graham and Allister Green.
Interment was in Wroxeter
Cemetery.
Church Was 3uilt on
Faith, Speaker Says
BELMORE—Special anniver-
sary services were held on Sep-
tember 19th in the Belmore
United Church. Rev. Alex
Coles, minister of Fordwich
United Church, was guest speak-
er at both 11 a.m. and 7:30
p. m. services.
Mr. Coles' morning message
was "The "Importance of Faith"
He said, "It was by faith your
forefathers built this church and
faith is equally important today.
As your faith is, so will be your
church and the church will
make a better community."
The choir sang "Blessed
Book Divine" and a trio com-
prised of Mrs. Carl Douglas and
Misses Velma and Lavonne Bal-
Iagh sang, "I Walked Today
Where Jesus Walked" .
At the evening service Mr.
Coles' topic was "ChristChan-
ges Not". He said that in to-
day's changing world there is
one thing that never changes
--
Jesus Christ. "He is the same
yesterday and today and for-
ever." He can adapt to any of
our problems and his standards
are just as applicable now as
they ever were.

a severe heart attack. We are

W.M.S. to Hold
Family Night
BELMORE--The Women's
Missionary Society of Knox Pres-
byterian Church held its meet-
ing last Thursday in the church.
Mrs. Ralph Dickson conduct-
ed a forum on problems in Ni-
geria. Discussion of the prob-
lems in education, the church,
the women's organization and
the girls' group were surprising-
ly similar to those in our own
country.
Mrs. Elmer Jeffray presided
and the roll call was answered
with a favorite parable. Mrs.
John Dickson and Mrs. Myrtle
Weir conducted the devotion.
Mrs. Ralph Dickson and Mrs.
Weir will be the flower com-
mittee for October. The family
night will be held in October.
Belmore Personal Notes
University students from this
area who are hard at work at
the books include, Wayne Doug-
las, in first year General Arts
at Waterloo Lutheran University
and Michael O'Malley, in third
year Civil Engineering at Uni-
versity of Western Ontario, Lon-
don.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peel
and family returned last week
from Germany, where he has
been stationed with the RCAF
for a number of years. This
week they left for their new
post, Ottawa. On Sunday a
family gathering was held at
the home of Mrs. Peel's parent$
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Simmons,
to welcome the Peels home.
Mrs. William Mulvey and
infant daughter, Cindy Lynn,
returned home from Walkerton
Hospital on Tuesday on Tues-
day of last week.
Miss Margaret O'Malley, a
nurse -in -training at Galt Hos-
pital, spent a few days at her
home on the 2nd of Culross last
week.
A shower was held in the
local Community Centre on Fri-
day evening of last week for
Mr. and Mrs, Robert Searson,
newlyweds. A presentation was
made to the couple and dancing
was enjoyed to the music of
Garnet Farrier's orchestra.
Mr. and Mrs. George Nick-
el and family attended the
funeral of a friend, held in Lis-
towel on Saturday.
Mrs. Stuart Johann, David
and Heather, of Teeswater,
were Sunday guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Wilfred Johann and sons
and attended anniversary ser-
vices in the United Church.
Rev. Douglas Steven was
guest speaker at anniversary
services in Fordwich United
Church on Sunday morning. In
the everting he conducted an-
niversary services in Pine River.
Members of the Presbyterian
quartet, Thomas Inglis, Ross
McKague, Bruce Darling and
Bill Jeffray, were guests at the
anniversary services held in
Fairburn Presbyterian Church on
Sunday morning. Mrs. Alvin
Mundell and Miss Mae Johann
accompanied them.
Services will be cancelled in
the local United Church this
Sunday so friends may attend
anniversary services of their
sister church, McIntosh United,
at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Guest
speaker at both services will be
Rev. Bert Daynard of Staffa. In
the Presbyterian church, at
services held at 2:30 p.m.,
the Rev. T. E. Kennedy will
preach his farewell sermon.

Ted Newton of Gorrie visited on
