Married in Beamsville
Trinity United Church,
Beamsville was the scene of a
pretty summer wedding on Aug-
ust 21, when Mary Alice Brown,
youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Brown of Beams-
ville was united in marriage to
Lionel William Nichol, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nichol,
Hamilton.
Dr. Victor Levan of Brant-
ford officiated at the double -
ring ceremony. Mrs. 0. E.
Smith played the wedding mu-
sic and Mrs. John Romagnoli
sang "Entreat Me not to Leave
Thee" and "Wedding Prayer".
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was lovely in a
full-length gown of white silk
organza over taffeta, accented
with Swiss lace and bows, fea-
turing a shallow scooped neck-
line with elbow -length sleeves
and bell skirt. Her three -tier-
ed, finger-tip veil was caught
with a silk rose and seed pearls.
The bride carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow roses and
stephanotis.
The bride's sister, Margaret
Anne Brown of Toronto, was
maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were her sister, Mrs. Joseph Mc-
Knight
o-Knight and her niece, MissJane
McKnight of Beamsville. They
provided a colorful background
in their full-length dresses of
mint green chiffon over taffeta.
Scooped necklines and short
sleeves enhanced the empire
line gowns. The attendants
carried Shasta mums and ivy
and wore rosette headdresses of
nylon net,
Miss Eleanore Brown of For-
est was her aunt's winsome
flower girl wearing a short
green nylon dress with deli-
cately embroidered flowers.
She carried a basket of mums
and ivy.
The best man was Leigh
Hammond of Hamilton, brother-
in-law
rotherin-law of the groom. Ushers
were Mervyn Davis of Brantford
and Campbell Brown of Forest.
The reception was held in
the Gold Room of Prudhomme's
Garden Centre Hotel, Vineland.
The bride's mother received
in a floral silk dress with cor-
sage of coral carnations and the
mother of the groom was at-
tired in a powder blue gown
with navy accessories. Her cor-
sage was of white and pink
osebuds.
For travelling the bride wore
a biege suit with black acces-
sories, a feathered hat and mat -
chins corsage.
Following a honeymoon in
Northern Ontario the couple
will reside in Hamilton.
