Friday the Red Cross Water
Safety examiner was at the
pool to examine the young
swimmers who had participated
in the learn -to -swim program.
The results of the tests were ex-
cellent indeed. Of the ten sen-
ior swimmers that tried, nine
passed their tests. However, on-
ly seven received their awards
because two youngsters were too
young to qualify. In the inter-
mediate level, all ten young
people who tried won their
awards. Of the 30 juniors test-
ed, 26 passed. Forty-eight be-
ginners, 35 tadpoles and 19
starfish were successful.
The Red Cross examiner said
we presented a well-trained
group of candidates and con-
gratulated the instructors on a
fine job.
On Monday evening the pre-
sentation of awards was held at
the bath house. Mayor Miller
and Mrs. Harold Wild present-
ed the crests and awards. After
the presentation the children
had a wiener roast and sing-
song.
