"Word of Truth" district as-
sembly of Jehovah's Witnesses
at London's Western Fairground;
Thursday to Sunday.
Mr. E. Falconer, presiding
minister of the Wingham cong-
regation said the assembly had
a record crowd of 14, 430 per-
sons. The focal point was the
Bible discourse on Sunday when
Leo K. Greenlees, Canadian
director of Jehovah's Witnesses,
spoke on "World Government on
the Shoulder of the Prince of
Peace". He told the large
gathering, "World government
for all mankind will mean only
one supreme government over
all the earth. It will be a sym-
bol of the oneness of all the
people in peaceful humanbroth-
erhood."
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tomp-
kins and Cherub visited Mrs.

KIN ENTERTAIN AT
GODERICH HOSPITAL
Members of the Kinette and
Kinsmen clubs and volunteer
helpers entertained the. patients
at the Ontario Hospital in Gode-
rich last Wednesday by playing
bingo and giving out prizes.
They also gave them treats.
This is done periodically.
Progress Slow on
Hospital Addition
Work on the renovations and
addition to the Wingham and
District Hospital has been slow-
ed considerably by delay in
shipments of steel, necessary in
the construction of new sections
of the building.
The program calls for the
construction of a second storey
over the north wing, extension
of the east face of the centre
wing. and eventual demolition
of the original section of the
building at the south end of the
area.
Walls of the second storey
addition are partially complet-
ed, but work has come to a
virtual standstill for lack of
materials. Plumbing, wiring
and steam -fitting is continu-
ing inside the building. New
hollers ha'. e been installed hut
further work remains to he com-
pleted in the boiler rooms.
On the opening day conven-
tioners enthusiastically applaud-
ed the release of a new 512 -
page Bible reference manual,
The witnesses were told that the
majority of Bible questions they
encounter in their ministry
could be answered by skilled
use of the new book.
In the cafeteria over 20,000
meals were served under the
direction of 400 volunteers, In-
stallation brought in five huge
steam boilers, installed two
walk-in freezers and over 1, 500
lineal feet of cafeteria tables.
More than 22, 000 items were
handled by the trucking and
equipment department.
A crowd of 200 personsgath-
ered around a London east end
motel on Friday morning to
watch the largest baptism ever
held in London. One hundred
and forty-one baptismal candi-
dates were totally immersed in
water to symbolize their dedi-
cation to do the will of God
henceforth.
Upon returning Mr. Falconer
announced that Mrs. Mary Hac-
kett, a housewife from Luck -
now, was among the new min-
isters officially ordained at the
convention. She will join the
preaching fellowship of the
Wingham congregation.
Among the area delegatesto
the convention were Air. and
Mrs. Grant Gollan of Lucknow.
