On June 25 they were involved in an accident on the outskirts of Nipigon. A motorist from Red Rock, Ont. , came out of an intersection and drove head on into the Pocock car. He was charged with careless driv- ing and on July 7th at a hearing in Nipigon was convicted and fined. Mrs. Pocock was thrown in- to the windshield and suffered concussion, bruised chest and injured right knee. They were both admitted to hospital in Nipigon, where Mr. Pocock suffered shock and a severe heart attack. After release from hospital July 27, they motored home. Mr. Pocock was immediately admitted to Wingham General Hospital where he is a patient at present. He is making a slow recovery. Damage to the car amount- ed to $510.00. Listowel B�irial, Mrs. J. F. McLean WROXETER--Mrs. John F. McLean, the former Minnie Wilson, died in Trafalgar Hos- pital, Oakville on August 4. She was a native of Wallace Township, having been born there in 1882. After her marriage to Mr. McLean she lived in Listowel and then owned and operated a store in Whitechurch before coming here in 1951. She is survived by her sons, Ira of Wroxeter and Earl of St. Catharines; two daughters, Mrs. Stewart (Jean) Cross of Walker- ton and Mrs. W. A. (Pearl) Gibson of Oakville; and a broth- er, Roy Wilson of Guelph. She was predeceased by a son Jack, in 1942. Rev. Wilfred Hird conducted the service at the Moir funeral home and interment in Fair- view Cemetery, Listowel. The pallbearers were five grandsons, Donald Gibson of St. Cath arines, Murray McLean of Owen Sound, and Bruce Park- er of Cargill, husband of her granddaughter. Taylor-Congram Vows Exchanged Lois Isobel Congram, Kit- chener, became the bride of Robert Leslie Taylor, also of Kitchener, at a ceremony in Wingham United Church, Rev. Cecil M. Jardine officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. The bride chose an empire - style floor -length gown of white bamberg organza with bodice of chantilly lace, lilypoint sleeves, and bell-shaped skirt. A floral headpiece trimmed with rhinestones held her veil of illusion and she carried a white Bible crested with red roses. Matron of honor was Mrs. Gordon Congram, Wingham and bridesmaid was Miss Patricia Taylor, St. Helens, sister of the groom . They wore street -length dresses of turquoise organza with lace bodices. Flower girl was Marilyn Con - gram, Wingham, wearing a frodk of white organza. William Young, Auburn, was groomsman, and guests were ushered by Gordon Con- gram, Wingham, brother ofthe bride, and Thomas Taylor, Blyth, brother of the groom. Sangster -Darling Family Reunion BELMORE—The Sangster - Darling family reunion was held on Civic Holiday at the Belmore Arena, with an at- tendance of 162. Because of the inclement weather races were held in the arena, with supper served upstairs in the hall. President Arnold Jeffray was in charge. Miss Isobel Darling showed excellent color slides of past reunions and Robert Hark- ness showed some local films. Prizes were awarded for races and novelty contests, with winners as follows: Races, 6 and under, Twyla Dickson, Glen Jeffray; boys, 6-8, David Mawhinney, Gra- ham Rutherford; girls, 6-8, Ruth Ann Wicke, Ann West; boys, 8-11, Douglas Jeffray, Wayne Lints; girls, 8-11, Joan Campbell, Darlene Ballagh; boys, 11-14, Alan Dickson, Terry Ballagh; boys, 14 and over, Dennis Lints, Glen Allan; girls, 14 and over, Linda Hark- ness, Ruth Campbell;. girls' water race, Jane Campbell, Ruth Campbell; boys' water race, Jimmy Harkness, Alan Dickson.
