of Penetanguishine are visiting
this week with Miss Lila Emer-
son.

of Molesworth spent Friday and
Saturday with her sister, Mrs.

farm work due to Mr. Richard -
son's confinement to Victoria
Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Neable
spent Sunday with her mother,

Mr. John Coffin left on Sun-
day evening to visit with his
brother, Mr. George Coffin and
Mrs. Coffin of Galt, and to
seek summer employment in
the city.
Mr. Victor Emerson is assist-
ing Mr. Robert McMillan of
Seaforth for a few weeks with
carpentry.
Mr. Robert Young of North-
ern Quebec was due to arrive
in Toronto Saturday evening
and to spend this week with his
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Wesley
Young.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin
took Mrs.James Richardson,
Mr. Jack and Bob Richardson to
London on Sunday to visit with
Jim, who is a patient in Vic-
toria Hospital.

hunting expedition last Thurs-
day and visited with Mr. and

Girl Wins in Water Skiing
Sharon Willie, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Willie of
Wingham, was the only local
winner in the second annual
Silver Lake open water skiing
tournament staged last Sunday.
Sharon won top spot in the
women's and girls' slalom
event and third prize in the
jumping class.
The skiing competitions for
the Carling Trophy saw about
40 competitors from across the
province and the United States
entered in the six -event pro-
gram, which is sponsored by
the London Aqua Club in co-
operation with Ernie King's Sil-
ver Lake Camp. Some 1,500 to
2,000 spectators were on hand
WINS TROPHY --Sharon Willie, of Wingham, was the only
competitor to end up in the money at the second annual
water skiing competitions at Silver Lake on Sunday. She
is pictured receiving the Carling Trophy from Sparky
Weiler, sales representative for the firm. Sharon was
first in the slalom event arid third in jumping,--Phdtb by
King,
for the show. Silver Lake is
just off No. 9 Highway, 12
miles east of Kincardine.
The affair was broken down
into six events including men's
jumping, senior men's and boys'
jumping and women's and girls'
jumping and slalom events in
the same categories.
The crowd was also thrilled
with an exhibition of kite ski-
ing, which was somewhat ham-
pered by high winds, and bare-
foot skiing.
Twenty-one trophies were
handed out to the winners at
the end of the day.
