Street Blocked
For Three Days
WHITECHURCH-A storm
similar to those recalled by
the old-timers hit this part of
the country last week, which
brought to mind the times when
men with shovels, and teams
attached to V -type plows broke
through the clogged roads. If
the drifts were too high, the
team was unhitched from the
sleigh and put through the bank.
Some horses became adept at
following the old trail, and
proud were their owners. Those
who couldn't follow a trail usu-
ally crowded and often"corked"
themselves.
The north street of the vil-
lage didn't have a plow on it
for three days last week. The
last time this occurred was in
March, 1947, when the same
street remained blocked for
three days.
