The meeting was opened by Rev. Gordon Fish of Wingham, who read Scripture and prayer. Rev. Fish was elec- ted chairman and Mrs. Gordon Wall, secretary. The congregation has 54 members from 24 families. Members of the Board ofSession are Elmer Scott, Arnold Scott and Gordon Wall. The ushers were re -appointed. All reports were very en- couraging for the progress of the work in 1965. Rev. Fish closed the meeting with prayer. Pot Luck -Dinner At W.I. Meeting LAKELET-The February meeting of the Lakelet Wo- men's Institute was preceded by a pot luck dinner last Thurs- day at the Institute hall. The roll call, "Take a Chance", proved to be both entertaining and profitable. It was decided to send a delegate to the offi- cers' convention in Guelph in May. Members were reminded to support the Institute card party at the hall this week. Two humorous readings were given by Mrs. Emerson Ferguson, "Epidemics and Patent Medi- cine", and "Catalogues". A questionnaire on evalua- tion and improvement of the Institute revealed some interest- ing information and good sug- gestions. Munro, Mrs. Wm. Wright was in the presi- dent's chair and welcomed all present, An invitation to Fordwich was accepted for February 16th from the Fordwich Women's In- stitute. The short course, "Block Printing" was given to the In- stitute members by Mrs. H. Timm and Mrs. Wes Heimpel. Samples done by the members were on display. The president announced that the County Achievement Day for'Block Printing'is to be held in the Sea - forth Community Hall on Wed - nesday, March 3, The report of the nominat- ing committee was brought forth and all offices have been filled for the coming year. There were two guest speak- ers. Mrs. C, Sothern, Fordwich, gave the history of Lady and Lord Tweedsmuir and many good suggestions on how to as- semble the Tweedsmuir Book. The Fordwich Tweedsmuir Book was on display, J. H. Wylie, Wroxeter, gave the history of the 1 -Lowick Mu- tual Fire Insurance Company of Wroxeter which was very inter- esting to all members. Both speakers were presented with small gifts in appreciation of their fine talks. Mrs. Wm. Wright read a poem Condition Is Still Critical The condition of Herb Bur- chill, victim of serious injury in a fall on January 31 remains critical at London's Victoria Hospital. According to the latest report he has not as yet regained consciousness. Miss Marlene Burchill, 11 - year -old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burchill had the misfor- tune to break a bone in her leg while playing at Howick Cen- tral School on Wednesday. She is staying at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weltz of Walkerton. The kindness of relatives and friends is heart-warming at such a time as this. Broomball Scores In the men's league last week Wingham defeated White- church 2-1 in Belgrave on Mon- day night and Stone School de- feated Belgrave 1-0. The following night Wing - ham and Tenth Line tied to a one -all score. On Thursday Belgrave won 2-0 over Whitechurch playing in Belgrave and Brussels defeat- ed Tenth Line 4-1. At the American Hotel vs Brussels game played in that town on Thursday the American Hotel won 2-0. In Brussels Arena Monday evening, Whitechurch and American Hotel played to a 2-2 tie. Brussels and 10th Line also engaged in play with the score 0-0, Wroxeter Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Dane and family, Howick, Mrs.Jean Taylor of Belgrave and Miss Gertrude Bush, Wroxeter, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. - Gibson and Mrs. W. Weir. Mr. and Mrs. Helmet Wil- son and Valerie yisited over the week -end with Mr.and Mrs. Dean Karn. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ingram were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Noble and fam- ily of Rothsay. Mr.and Mrs. Kenneth Walk- er, Galt, and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Walkom of Paris visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Russell Walk- er. We wish to welcome Mr.and Mrs. Seymour Bailey of Mount Forest to our community. They have taken up residence in the home belonging to Mr. and Mrs. harry Adams. We are pleased to hear Mr. Vernon I lupfer has returned home from Wingham and Dis- trict Ilospital and Mrs.Jamcs Alcorn expects to he home with in a few days. W.I. The high prize winners were Mrs. John L. Currie, and John L. Currie. Low scores were held by Allan Carter playing as a lady and Lorne Scott. Mrs. Ronald Coultes won the novelty Valentine prize for having most lone hands in hearts and Ray Pattison won the men's prize. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coul- tes and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McBurney will be sponsors for the next party on February 26. The date has been changed be- cause of the high school con- cert the week earlier. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cur- rie and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Walker served lunch. LAST GAME ENDS IN THREE -ALL TIE WROXETER- The Wroxeter and Belgrave Squirts met in a hockey game in Belgrave Arena on Saturday morning which re- sulted in a 3-3:;;tie. This was the last game of the schedule. "The Symbol of Time". Mrs. Wright also announced that the next meeting will be in the form of a pot -luck dinner at her home. The roll call, "Items for the Tweedsmuir Book" brought a few responses. The hostesses for the after- noon were Mrs. A. Munro, Mrs. Les Douglas and Mrs, William Wright. Discuss Miracles At Hi -C Meeting BELGRAVE-The Hi -C Group of Knox United Church met in the church basement on Sunday evening. Ruth Michie opened with a sing song, accompanied by Lorne Campbell. Secretary Lynda Coultes read the minutes and Alan Bosman gave the' . treasurer's report. The group received an invitation to a dance in Clinton on Friday, February 12, Call to worship was given by Lloyd Michie followed by a hymn. Ruth Michie read the Scripture and Lloyd led inpray- er. The offering was received by David Bosman and Jim Tay- lor. "O Word of God Incarnate' was sung. Lloyd Michie was also in charge of the discussion. The theme was "Miracles".
