McMurray were Mr. Bob McMurray and family of Kingston, and Mr. Donald Mc - Nine Lessons At St. Stephen's GORRIE-On Sunday morning at St. Stephen's Church there was a service of nine lessons and Christmas carols. The les- sons were read by Joan David, Deborah Steurnol, Peter Dins- more, Margaret Bennett, Judy King, Joan Anderson, Ronald Elliott and the rector, Rev. G. A.Anderson. Miss Gail Dinsmore was at the organ for the carol singing and the choir sang three num- bers. Safety Sisters Personals GORRIE-Katharine Klinck, president, opened the meeting of the Gorrie Safety Sisters with the 4-H pledge, motto and safety song. There were seven members present at the seventh meeting held at the home of Mrs. Melvin Taylor. Roll call was answered by stat- ing a traffic law. Discussion was on the care of the body including the feet, eyes, teeth and skin; nutrition for good health; fruits for all the family; general rules for meal planning. . Members attended the ad- dress of Constable R. G. Phillips, Goderich, who spoke at the Howick Central School to club members and also showed films. We used to settle our prob- lems over coffee and cigarettes - now they're our problems. Murray and family of Lucknow. Miss Julia Thornton, Ottawa, spent the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cal- bert of Paris, and their daugh- ter Joyce, of Vancouver, spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Garniss and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Webb and children of Painswick spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Hoffman and Claire Hoff- man and family of Exeter. Miss Norma McMinn of Tor- onto spent the holiday with her sister and family, the Arnold Lillows. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Moffatt and four children were with Burns Moffatt and family for Christmas. Douglas Thomas, student at Ryerson Institute, Toronto, and Gerald Thomas who is attend- ing Teachers' College at Strat- ford, are spending their Christ- mas holidays at home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann spent a few days at Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. George Thom- son and their sister, Miss Maude Brock of Kincardine, spent the holiday with relatives at Guelph. Miss Joyce Tiffin of White- church visited Mrs. W. J. John- ston last week. . Mr. and Mrs. George Mc - Culla and Heather, of Breslau, and Mr. and Mrs. Colin Dan- iels, of Kitchener, visited Mr. and Mrs. A. D.
