Si, 1964 Stephens-Cassivi Vows Exchanged GORRIE-A quiet wedding took place at the United Church manse on Wednesday, Dccetu- ber 23, when Rev. Fred W . Tar for united in marriage Evelyn Louise Cassivi and Robert Leslie Stephens. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George D.Hislop, R. R. 2, Wroxeter, and the groom is the son of MrS..Arthur L. Stephens of Currie and the late Mr. Stephens. The bride wone a two-piece turquoise double-knit dress with a corsage of pink carna- tions. Her attendant was Mrs. Alvin Grainger of Wroxeter, R, R.2, sister of the groom, and the best man was Mr. Grainger. Mr. and Mrs. Stephens will live at R. R. 1, Gorrie. Christmas Holiday Visitors --Mr, Calvin C;Ersotl, and Mr. and Mrs, Don Corson of Guelph spent the week -end with Mr. and \1rs. Doug Corson and family. --Mr, and Mrs. Elgin Coutts Don and Peter of Leaside spent Saturday and Sunday with his mother, Mrs, Alex Coutts and Norma . --Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cam- eron and family of Owen Sound visited for a few days at Christ- mas with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Don Cameron and Mr, and Mrs. Jack Colvin. Miss Sandra Cameron returned home with them on Monday to spend a few days. --Mrs. Cora Hawkins of Tor- onto is spending a couple of weeks with her sister, Mrs. Toni Cruickshauk and Mr. Cruick- shank. Conkey of London spent the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Foxton. --Mrs, Norman Fry, Mrs. Stewart Scott and Keith visited for a few days at Christmas with the former's daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rae and Bar- bara in London. --Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fuller and daughter Ruth, Mrs. Cliff Fuller and son Ross of Mitchell visited on Saturday with Mr, and Mrs. Howard Fuller. --Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bennett of London spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Temple- man and family and on Saturday they all went to Owen Sound to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Alien Walker and family. --Mrs. Mae Blatchford is spending the holidays with her daughter and son-in-law, Lt. L. G. Eldridge and Mrs. Eldridge and family at Petawawa. --Mr, and Mrs. Eugene Dev- ereaux of Alliston were holiday week -end visitors with her mo- ther, Mrs. Joseph Brophy and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Desmond of Detroit also spent the week -end here and visited with his mother in the hospital. --Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ware- ing and family of llensall spent Christmas Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Parker Campbell. --Peter Carmichael of the University of Detroit and Mr. and Mrs. Don Hawthorne, Su- san and Steven of Toronto spent Christmas at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Carmichael. Christmas Setting for Wedding Candelabra, poinsettia and holly, sent from Vancouver by a cousin of the bride, decorat- ed Chalmers Presbyterian Church in Whitechurch on Sat- urday, December 19 for the wedding of Aleta Elaine Conn and Douglas Len Conley of Moorefield. Rev. G. L. Fish of Wingham officiated. The bride's brother George W. Conn, was the organist. He accompanied William G. Jeffray who sang "Heavenly Father" and "Thou Art Mine Own", The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn, R. R. 5, Lucknow, and the groom's parents arc Mr. and Mrs. James Conley of Dublin. Nir. Conn gave his daughter in marriage, The full-length French lace and silk organza bridal gown had a fitted bodice, long lily- point sleeves, glittered sabrina neckline and bouffant skirt in appliqued organza with low edge trite, worn over a full lace skirt with scalloped hem- line and chapel train. Her el- bow -length veil was held, by a glittered sabrina crown and she carried a white orchid and stephanotis. The maid of horror, Nliss Muriel Conn, and the brides- maids, Nliss Alma Conn, Mrs. James Albrecht and Mrs.Alurray Gaunt, were identically gown- ed in red velvet. The dresses were fashioned with semi-full skirts, scooped necklines and three-quarter length sleeves. They wore matching red shoes, poinsettia headdresses trade by the bride, and pearl necklaces and earrings. They carried' cascades of white carnations with silver bells and holly. Mervyn Conley was his bro- ther's hest man. The ushers were Jim Moffat, Murray Gaunt and Ivan Laidlaw. A reception was held at Danny's Restaurant where the dining room was decorated with holly, ponsettias and a Christmas tree. Ttte bride's mother chose a red chiffon sheath dress with hack panel, black accessories and a white gardenia corsage. The groom's mother wore a sapphire blue brocade sheath with black accessories and a pink rose corsage. For the honeymoon to BCC, tnuda Mrs. Conley wore a t wo- picce black crepe dress with A-line skirt, cranberry red coat trimmed with black fox fur, black accessories and a white orchid corsage. The bride is a graduate of Stratford Teachers' College. The bride's maternal grand- parents, of Whitechurch, and the groom's paternal grandfa- ther of Lucknow wets artrong the many guests.
