A little girl had a new baby
sister. One day when the baby
was crying her mother picked
her up and sang to her, but she
kept right on crying, The littl
girl remarked,
"No wonder she still cries.
She can't even choose the songs
you sing to her!"

"B" PACK CUBS
The annual Christmas party
was held in the Scout house last
Thursday evening with perfect
attendance except for one Cub,
who was ill. All the leaders
were present.
The hall was decorated and
a lovely Christmas tree twin -
kled in the corner. As the Cubs
arrived they placed their gifts
under the tree and the regular
opening ceremony followed.
The Grand Howl was led by
Akela, Mrs. Ahara and all Six-
ers took part in leading the
boys.
The pennant for the best all-
round Six for the first half of
the year was presented to the
Blue Six, and Sixer Steven
Lloyd received the pennant. A
blue patch will be sewn onto
the pack pennant.
A Senior Sixer stripe was
presented to John Schipper.John
had been chosen as the best all
round Sixer and for general pro-
ficiency and willingness to co-
operate with the leaders. This
is the first time B Pack has had
a Senior Sixer, and they are
very proud that one of the boys
qualified for this position of
honor. Congratulations, John.
Ivlrs. Ahara announced that
it was necessary for her to give
up the leadership of the Cubs at
this time and that ACM Hugh
Sinnamon would take over. A
presentation ceremony was held
for Mrs. Ahara by ACM Sinna-
mon, when she was presented

activities
with a beautiful Indian Chief's
headdress, in token of the grand
Indian Camp held last summer.
The boys were reminded that
she had been given the Indian
name of "Shining Eyes". Three
cheers followed and Mrs. Ahara-
thanked Mr. Sinnamon for this
wonderful gift, which was hand-
made.
A games period followed
when ACM Sinnamon was assis-
ted by Jim Campbell and Bill
McIntyre, the two new Cub
Leaders, while Akela and ACM
Eileen Bennett prepared the
lunch.
Following refreshments the
gifts and candy canes were
handed out and the evening
closed with the reading of a
poem, telling the story of the
first Christmas day, and why
we celebrate this festive time.
Akela reminded the boys not to
forget that this is the birthday
of the Christ Child and that as
they enjoy the festivities of
Christmas Day to remember
the reason it is celebrated.
Akela announced that ACM
Bennett would not be with "B"
Pack for the rest of this year
due to ill health and expressed
the regrets of all present.
As the boys left, the leaders
wished each and every boy a
Very Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year.
Mrs. Busybody was pumping
the local lawyer about the de-_
mise of the town's richest man.
"You knew him well," she
cooed. "How much wealth did
he leave?"
With a tip of his hat, the old
lawyer replied, "All of it, Ma-
dam, all of it."
