Merry Christmas and Happy

Mr. and Mrs, Walter Elliott,
Ruth, Paul, Barry and David,
accompanied by his mother,
Mrs. Gordon Elliott, and Mrs,
Robert Galbraith of Wingharn
visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs,. Mitchell Elliott and fam-
ily of Ailsa Craig,
Mr. Jim Ross of Wallaceburg
spent the week -end at his home
here and attended the Conley -
Conn wedding in Chalmers Pres-
byterian Church on Saturday,
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Con-
ley, newlyweds, left by plane
Sunday for Bermuda,
Mr, and Mrs, George Weber
of Kitchener visited on Saturday
with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber
and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber,
Anne Marlene and Clair were
Friday evening visitors with Mr,
and Mrs. Robert Chambers of
Ha rristpn,
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Jamie-
son and Lori Anne were Sunday
visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Tom
Magoffin.
Mr. Lawrence Taylor and
Joyce motored to Woodstock on
Monday and Miss Mary Taylor
returned home with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Fischer
and Douglas of Palmerston were
Sunday visitors with Mr, and
Mrs. Bill Neable and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Smith,
Euchre at
Currie's School
WHITECHURCH-Currie's
School held a progressive
euchre party on Friday evening
with 12 tables enjoying the
game. Those winning prizes
were: high lady, Mrs. B. Gal-
braith; high gent, Robert Ar-
buckle; low lady, Mrs. Howard
Walker; low gent, Anthony
Schefter,
There were special prizes
of a story book given to ten
girls and a little boy received
a truck.
The next euchre party will
be held January 8th, 1965,
when Mr. and Mrs. Alex Ro-
bertson and Mr, and Mrs. Ed
Smythe will be the supervisors.
The hosts and hostesses, Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Pattison and Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Dawson served
lunch.
Currie's School
Christmas Concert
WHITECHURCH- The Christ-
mas concert was held in Cur-
rie's School on Tuesday even-
ing of last week. Several pupils
took turns in announcing the
program numbers.
Recitations and dialogues
were on the program. The
senior and junior groups sang
songs, Doris Coultes sang a
solo and Brenda Stapleton gave
a monologue. A drill, "The
Queen's Guard” was presented.
A quintette, Joyce Taylor,
Joyce Coultcs, Doris Coultes,
Joan Currie and Brenda Staple-
ton sang "Silent Night".
Santa arrived to distribute
candy and gifts to the pupils
and audience.

Bradley arid Cathy of Toronto
spent .the week -end with her
parents, Mr.. and Mrs, Russel
Chapman and with his parents,
Mr, and Mrs, Smith of Wing -
ham. Bradley remained to
visit till Christmas with his
grandparents.
Mrs, Olive Kennedy, teach-
er at Fordyce School, held a
party Monday afternoon for the
Mothers and pre-schoolers of
the section,
Mr, and Mrs, Cameron Sim-
mons of London spent Saturday
with her father, Mr. Charles
Martin and his parents, Mr. and
Mrs, Qordon Simmons of Wing -
ham. They were accompanied
to Goderich by their daughter,
Nancy, who was a guest at a
wedding there,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Coffin
and Kirk of Kitchener were Sat-
urday visitors with Mrs. Emma
Coffin and John.
Mr. Alex Coffin, Mr. Cliff
Wells, Mr. Ross Hancock and
Miss Shirley Hancock, all of
Hespler, visited on Sunday with
Mrs. Emma Coffin and John.
Student preacher, Mr. Don-
ald Watt, arrived home Friday
evening from Knox College,
Toronto, for the Christmas holi-
days.
We are sorry to report Mrs,
Orville Tiffin is confined to bed
with an attack of flu. We wish
her a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs, Lorne Durnirr
and Mr, and Mrs, Tobi Jantzi
of Milverton on Saturday left
for Florida and will return in
time for Mrs, Jantzi to resume
her teaching duties,
Mr. and Mrs, Wesley Tiffin,
Mrs. Myrtle Dawson, Mrs, Cas-
sie Falconer and Mr, Tom Pur-
don of Lucknow visited on Sun-
day with Mr. and. Mrs. Hugh
David Henderson of Listowel,
Arriving home from Western
University to spend the Christ -
Mas holidays were Mr. Wayne
Martin with Mr, and Mrs. Don
Martin, Miss Muriel and Elwin
Moore with Mr. and Mrs.
Milian Moore, Mr, George
Conn with Mr. and Mrs, Wal-
lace Conn, Mr, Murray Coultes
with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coul-
tes.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin
and Mrs. Bill Evans were Friday
evening visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Moffat.
Miss Janet Beecroft of Alma
College, St. Thomas, arrived
home Friday night to spend the
holiday season with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft.
S.S. Christmas Concert
WHITECHURCH- The United
Church Sunday School concert
was held Monday evening with
Rev. Geo. Mitchell as chair-
man, The opening carol was
"0 Little Town of Bethlehem".
Recitations were given by Mil-
ton Purdon, Irene Wall, Janet
Adams, Ronny Soloman, Rick
Hand, Arnold Morrison, Barbara
Ritchie, Joyce Morrison, John
and Robert Wall, Mary Lou
Adams, Nancy Swan, Brenda
Ritchie, Brenda Soloman and
Stephen Ritchie.
A piano solo was given by
Thelma Purdon , vocal solos
by Janice Farrier and Joyce Tif-
fin, a saxaphone duet by Wayne
Farrier and Donald Gaunt. The
three choruses, "Twelve Days
of Christmas", "Lovliest Christ-
mas" and "Christmas Message"
were enjoyed. Linda and Thel-
ma Purdon sang a duet.

Excellent Program
WHITECHLIRCH-S. S. No. 10
pupils, under supervision of
their teacher, Mrs. Kenneth
Wheeler and the music teacher,
Mrs. Bill Scott, presented a
Christmas concert in the Mem-
orial Hall Thursday evening.
Recitations were given by
Brenda Ritchie, Rickey Hand,
Bobbie Ross, Nancy Swan, Bren-
da Soloman, Lawrence Norman,
Arnold Morrison, Darlene Simp-
son and Stephen Ritchie.
."Here Conies the Bride"•,
"Little Red Riding Hood", "The
Mail Order flat", "Doing With-
out Christmas" and "The Shawl'
were dialogues given by the
seniors. Several musical num-
bers were rendered.
The senior girls presented a
dance quadrille.
The chairman, llugh Eland,
gave complimentary remarks
and the teachers announced the
arrival of Santa Claus. Ile dis-
tributed gifts to the large aud-
ience of adults and pre-school
children as well as the. pupils.
Two plays were presented.
"Everywhere Christmas", and
"Lights of Christmas".
The evening ended with a
play by the young people's
group, "Nobody Home", The
cast was Elgin Sleightholm,
Beverley Soloman, Muriel and
Alma Conn, David Sleightholm,
Billie and Edna Wall, who were
introduced by Arthur Laidlaw.
After the benediction Santa
Claus arrived and distributed
gifts and candy to all.

New President
WHITECH URCH- The United
Church Messengers held their
December meeting Sunday af-
ternoon during Church service.
The president, Cathy Soloman
gave the call to worship, Char-
les Thompson read the Scrip-
ture.
"Silent Night" was sung. The
offering was received by Steph-
en Ritchie and dedicated by
Phyllis Sleightholm. Nancy
Swan and Janet Sleightholm
sang "Away in a Manger".
Brian Purdon gave a Christmas
poem.
The roll call was answered
by 27. Dianne Swan read the
minutes. The election of of-
ficers followed: Past president,
Cathy Soloman; president, John
Gibb; vice president, Joyce Mor-
rison;
orrison; secretary, Charles Thomp-
;on; treasurer, Janet Sleight -
holm; citizenship secretary,
Brenda Soloman; press, Dianne
Swan.
