Autographed Ouilt
The Ladies' Aid of St. An-
drew's Presbyterian church
held a very successful Christ
-
Mas tea and bazaar last Friday
afternoon in the church parlor..
The event was opened at
2,30 by the minister, Rev. G,
L, Fish, who welcomed the
guests. Mrs, Frank Ross, pres-
ident, and the first vice pres-
ident Mrs. Len. Balser, wel-
comed the guests at the door.
A large quantity of attrac-
tive Christmas decorations,
aprons, candy and baking were
offered for sale. Many ladies
also patronized the tea room,
which was beautifully decora -
Ied.
The main event of the after
noon was the opening of the
box containing the bids for the
autographed quilt, Mrs. John
Hanna of Wingham was the
highest bidder. She very kind-
ly donated the quilt to the
manse with the provision that
it remain in the manse,
Christmas T herne at
U.C.W. General Meeting
A general meeting of the U.
C, W. was held in the Sunday
School room last Wednesday
evening with a good attendance,
A very lovely Christmas wor-
ship period was conducted by
Unit 3. The theme centred
around the story of the Wise
Men as read from Matthew 2.
Those taking part were Mrs, R.
Sinnamon, Mrs, Jas. Richard-
son, Mrs. W, R. Bell, Mrs. J.C.
McIntyre and Mrs. C.Shiell.
Mrs. H. France sang a solo,
"Star of the East", She was ac-
companied by her daughter,
Greta, After the singing of
"Joy to the World", Mrs. Bell
offered prayer, and thus con-
cluded this part of the meeting,
Mrs, G, W. Tiffin, president
of U.C.W. conducted the busi-
ness. The London Conference
is to meet here in 1966. Mrs.
C. Hodgins, Mrs. Wm.Conron
and Mrs. L. Hingston gave short
reports on the Sectional meet -
Attend Installation of
Friends at Stratforc
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Vogan,
formerly of Wingham, were
installed as Worthy Matron and
Worthy Patron of Radiant
Chapter No. 7.34, Stratford,
Order of the Eastern Star in a
ceremony on Saturday evening
November 28 in the Masonic
Auditorium. Several carloads
from Huron Chapter, Wingham,
attended and other guests were
present from London, Byron,
Kitchener, Mitchell, Seaforth,
Fergus, Guelph and Nova
Scotia.

officer; Mrs. Dorothy Phillips,
Grand Chapter committee
member was installing mar -

RNA Graduate
An impressive ceremony
was held in James Street Unit-
ed Church, Exeter, on Novem-
ber 27, when seven registered
nursing assistants received their
graduation diplomas and pins
after a ten months' course.
Miss Jill Thomson of Wingham,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ar-
nold Thomson, was one of the
graduates.
Mrs. E. DesJardins of Grand
Bend was guest speaker. Mrs.
Jack Dclbridge, instructor of
the class, presented the dip-
lomas, and Charles L. Smith
of the Board of Directors pre-
sented the pins.
A reception was held in the
church rooms for the graduates,
their relatives and friends and
invited guests.
LAKELET
Mr, and Mrs. henry liahn-
stien and family visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ezra
Demerling of Clifford on Sun-
day.
The Lakelet 4-11 members
were privileged to see films on
safety on the highway and safe-
ty measures in case of fire,
which were shown at the llow-
ick Central School on Wednes-
day.
Master jesse Yoder, eight-
year old sots of Mr. and Mrs,
13dwiir Yoder was adtltitted to
Walkerton llospiial on Sunday
with a persistent tiose bleed
which, however,. responded to
treatment, allowing him to re-
turn to his ltoltie the saltie dad.
Mrs. Elmer Greculey and
son Barry are spending this week
visiting at the home of Mr, acid
Mrs. Lloyd Noble of Landon,
and several from Radiant Chap-
ter, Mrs. Marjorie Guest was
the soloist.
