Miss Conn was ushered to a seat of honor by Mrs, Murray Gaunt and Miss Muriel Conn, to music supplied by Mrs, Nel- son Pickel. Contests were con- ducted by Miss Beth Caslick and Miss Diane Deyell. A reading "A Good Cake Recipe", was given by Miss Joyce Coultes, In this she was assisted by Misses Darlene Coultes and Patsy Caslick. Some of the larger gifts given by groups were a telephone seat and table with light, pop- up toaster, electric clock and kettle, ironing board, tray table set and blankets. Miss Muriel Conn assisted the bride - elect in opening the gi fts and JOHN McCORMICK Mr. Murray Gaunt read the cards. HAS 80th BIRTHDAY Miss Conn expressed thanks for the gifts and thanked those who had planned the shower. There were over 100 11 attend- ance. Family Honors Mr.,Mrs. Wall WHITECHURCH-Mr. and Mrs. George Needham of Pinkerton entertained in honor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Wall, who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, Festivities included a dinner, complete with wedding cake and suitable decorations. Present for the occasion were Mr, and Mrs, Gordon Wall and family of Langside; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Moffat and fam- ily, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Van - stone of Wingham; and Billie, Edna and Mary Lou Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Wall re- ceived many gifts from guests, and other relatives who were unable to be present. WHITECHURtH Mr. Donald Watt, student preacher of Chalmers P resby- terian Church, spent the week- end with his wife and family here. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin were Sunday visitors with her r arents, Mr. and Mrs. '=!11 Brown of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Temple- man held a family dinner at their home on Sunday in honor of her father, John McCormick, who was celebrating his 80th birthday. All the family was present including Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCormick and family and Bill McCormick of R. R. 2, Wingham, Mr. McCormick enjoys good health and takes pleasure in watching television and play- ing cards. He still goes to the homestead two or three days a week to help his son. Attend Huron FOA LAKELET-Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Murray and Mr. and Mrs. War- ren Zurbrigg attended the an- nual meeting of Huron County Federation of Agriculture at Londesboro last week.
