Mrs. Alex Reid slipped and
fell at her home on Friday
evening, which resulted in a
broken hip. She is a patient

The finest weather in years
prevailed for the Remembrance
Day service at the cenotaph on
Wednesday morning. The

ade from the armouries com-
posed of personnel of the 23
Field Regiment, RCA(M), Wing -
ham Branch lriu, Royal Canadi-
an Legion, Women's Auxiliary
to the Legion, town council,
Boy Scouts and Wolf Cubs.
David Crothers, Legion pres-
ident acted as master of cere-
monies and called on acting
mayor Roy Adair for his re-
marks. The Salvation Army
hand led in a hymn and Cap-
tain Ferris of the Salvation
Artny led in prayer.
DeWitt Iviiller, chaplain of
the Legion read the names of
the fallen in two wars. Me-
morial wreaths were placed by
representatives of the town
council, Township of Turnbcrry,
Wingharn Business Association,
Winghatn Public School, East-
ern Star, High School Cadet

Remembrance
Service Held
BLUEVALE-A special service
in the United Church on Sunday
was in observance of Remem-
brance Day. Rev. G.C. Mit-
chell conducted the service
and spoke of war and its heroes
and the forward look for.the
time when peace shall reign
over the whole earth.
Bert Garniss, a veteran of
World War II read the names
of those of the community who
gave up their live, for freedom
in the two world wars, while
the congregation stood to hon-
or their memory.
The choir led in singing
national hymns and Kipling's
well known "Lest We Forget".
Miss Betty Hetherington sang
the solo in the choir anthem.
Mrs. Carl Johnston was accom-
panist.
