BELMORE- Two Belmore area
girls were among the multitudes
of teenage fans who packed
Treasure Island Gardens in Lon-
don for a glirnpse of their idols,
the Dave Clark Five. Sisters
Joan and Dorothy O'Malley,
both students at Wingham Dis-
trict High School, attended the
first of two shows presented last
Tuesday by the English stars,
who are now on a North Amer-
ica to tour.
.Asked how they liked them,
Dorothy sighed, "Oh, they were
Wow!" Later, she used
the word "beautiful" to describe
them. The girls also told of
another fan in the audience who
crowded close enough to the
stage to touch the leader of the
group, then promptly fainted.
Later, they saw her "recuperat-
ing", and muttering over and
over, "I touched him....I
touched him
The girls guessed that the
DC5 had sung some of their hits.
"But," they added, "we could
not hear them for the scream-
ing!" Asked which of the five,
Mike Smith, Rick Huxley, Len-
ny Davidson, Dennis Payton and
leader Dave Clark, she prefer-
red, Dorothy sighed, "Lenny
Davidson!" (He is the blonde
guitarist who sings lead.)
The only comment by their
mother, Mrs. T. P. O'Malley,
was "I thought they were

Friends of Mrs. John Harper
were sorry to learn that she is a
patient in Wingham and Dis-
trict Hospital and will be for
sometime. We hope that she
will soon be able to return to
her home.
Many U.C.W. members at-
tended the bazaar and bake sale
sponsored by the McIntosh
United Church Women, held in
that church on Wednesday af-
ternoon of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Sangster
attended the funeral of Mrs.
Jack Kreller in Clifford on Fri-
day of last week.
A number of friends attend-
ed services held for Mrs. Alex
Corrigan, in Wingham on Fri-
day afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Jo-
hann and sons were Saturday
dinner guests with her mother,
Mrs. William Klein, at Gow-
anstown.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mulvey
and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hup-
fer of Wroxeter were Sunday
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Murray
Mulvey.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Mc-
Dowell and Heather, Cooks-
town, enjoyed Sunday dinner
with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Doug-
las and Wayne.
Mrs. Robert Nickel and Kay
of Gorrie attended services at
Belmore United Church on Sun-
day, and visited at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Boyd.
Mr. and Mrs. Orval Camer-
on and family visited on Sun-
day with his mother, Mrs. Dan
Cameron, at Inniswood Private
Hospital, near Barrie.
Mrs. Richard Jeffray of Wing -
ham spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Inglis and family
and attended Communion ser-
vices in the Presbyterian church.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jeffray
and family were Sunday guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Zinn at
Goderich.
Surprise Shower
For Bride -Elect
BELGRAVE-Mrs. G. Ross
Anderson was hostess for a sur-
prise miscellaneous shower in
honor of Miss Patricia Logan.
Guests were neighbors of Miss
Logan,
Assisting Mrs. Anderson
were Mrs. Cliff Purdon, Mrs,
Lawrence Vannan, Mrs. Clar-
ence Hanna, Mrs. Roy Mac -
Sween. A mock wedding was
staged by the children, Monna
Purdon, Barbara Cook, Gail
Mayberry, Doreen and Nancy
Anderson and Brenda Johnston.
The gifts were carried in in
decorated baskets by the girls.
Lunch was served by Mrs. An-
derson, Mrs. Purdon and Mrs.
Vannan.

Wroxeter Personal Notes
Mr, and Mrs. Laurie Van-
Velsor were in Woodstock for
the week -end.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cathers
of Cannington spent the week-
end with the latter's parents,
Mr, and Mrs, Stanley Gallaher.
Miss E. L. Anderson, Mrs.
H. M. Anderson and Mrs. M.
Hopkins, all of Toronto, visit-
ed their cousin, Mrs. George
Galbraith and Mr. Galbraith
on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs, James Doig
have returned home after
spending three weeks at the
home of their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs, Brad-
ley Galbraith, Wingham, while
they were vacationing in the
West.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ingram
and Sharon of Stratford visited
Sunday with the former's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Ingram,
Mr. John Hupfer and Miss
Hazel Spading were in Goder-
ich for the week -end where
they visited Mrs. Angus Carmi-
chael, Mr. and Mrs. James
Robertson and family.
