BELGRAVE— The November
meeting of the afternoon unit
of the United Church Women
was held last Wednesday in the
basement of the church with 15
members present. The meet-
ing opened with a hymn and
prayer. The leader, Mrs.
Stewart Procter, gave a read-
ing about the 23rd Psalm.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read by Mrs. Ross Robinson
and the roll call answered. The
treasurer, Mrs, George Martin,
gave her report. Reports of the
regional meeting held in Ethel
were given by Mrs. Ross Robin-
son reporting for the morning
session, and Mrs. Stewart Proc-
ter for the afternoon.
Mrs. Albert Coultes told of
some things she had read about
Brazil. Mrs. Williard Arm-
strong had charge of the study
which was on Trinidad and Bra •
zil, and was assisted by Mrs.
Earl Anderson and Mrs. Leslie.
They described the climate,
vegetation and customs of the
people. Mrs. Arthur Jackson
had charge of the Bible study.

Morris Council
A by-law to impose a spe-
cial rate for the tile drainage
loan was passed by Morris
Township Council at the regu-
lar meeting on Monday of last
week.
A by-law authorizing the
reeve and clerk to apply for a
grant under the Confederation
Centennial act was given first
and second readings.
Insurance of $100, 000 public
liability and $50, 000 property
damage was voted for the trac-
tor, mower and loader with the
Co-operator's Insurance Asso-
ciation.

A little boy was visiting his

house attracted many of the school's visitors last Wed-
nesday. Mrs. S. Leedham, centre, teacher, is shown

Patricia Logan Wed Saturday
BELGRAVE—Sacred Heart
Church, Wingham, was the
setting for the wedding on Sat-
urday of Miss Patricia Ann Lo-
gan, only daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Logan, Belgrave,
to Mr. Americo Vincente Ar-
ruda of Toronto, son of Mr.
Frank Arruda and the late Mrs.
Arruda of Sao Miguel, the
Azores.
The wedding took place at
12;00 noon with Rev. D. E.
Mooney officiating. Organist
was Mrs. Richard Campeau of
Wingham. Soloist was Miss
Judith McDowell of Belgrave,
who sang "0 Perfect Love" .
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor -
length gown of white peau de
soie satin, styled on princess
lines. It featured a sabrina
neckline and short sleeves. Her
shoulder -length French illusion
veil was held by a crown head-
dress of tiny seed pearls. She
carried a bouquet of red Sweet-
heart roses.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
James Taff of London, cousin
of the bride. She wore a street -
length gown of bristol blue bro-
caded satin. It was styled on
princess lines much the same
as the bride's gown. She wore
a matching pillbox headdress
and shoes to match and her
flowers were white mums.
Miss Sharon Vincent,London,
also cousin of the bride, was
bridesmaid and her costume
and flowers were identical to
those of the matron of honor.
Flower girl was Kelly
Schueneman of London, cousin
of the bride, and she wore a
white nylon dress with blue
sash and matching tiny pillbox
headdress. She carried a nose-
gay of pink mums.
Demas Freitas of Toronto
was the best man. Ushers were
Barry Logan and Ralph Logan of
Belgrave, brothers of the bride.
The wedding dinner took
place at the home of the bride's
parents and the room was beau-
tifully decorated with pink and
white streamers and mums. As-
sisting at the dinner were Miss
Shirley Ellis of Wingham and
Miss Marlene Purdon of Bel -
grave.
Receiving the guests, the
bride's mother was dressed in
a sheath gown of royal blue and
black lace with white acces-
sories.
For her travelling costume
the bride chose an imported
blue wool dress and black Per-
sian lamb jacket with black ac-
cessories and a corsage of pink
carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. Americo Arru-
da will reside in Toronto.
Special guests attending the
wedding were the bride's grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Vincent. Other guests attend-
ed from London, Toronto,
Londesboro, Wingham and Bel -
grave.
