WOAA EXECUTIVE—The annual meeting of the Western
Ontario Athletic Association held here on Friday saw only
two new members appointed to the executive committee.

Windsor Area Farmer Heads
Federation of Agriculture
Charles Huffman, a success-
ful farmer from the Windsor
area has been elected president
of the province's main farm or-
ganization, The Ontario Fed-
eration of Agriculture.
Mr. Huffman was born and
raised in Harrow and has taken
an active part in church, school
and community affairs. He is a

Harrow Farmer's Co-operative,
a position that he has held for
many years. He is president of
the Harrow Potato and Fruit and
Vegetable Growers' Co-opera-
tive, a director of the United
Co-operatives of Ontario, a
vice-president of Co-operators
Insurance Association, and a
director and past president of
the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable
Growers' Association. He brings
to his new position a wealth of
knowledge in farm organiza-
tion work, gained through many
years of experience. Mr. Huff -
is 60 years of age.
Charles G. Munro, an out-
standing dairy farmer from Em-
bro in Oxford County, has been
elected first vice-president of
the OFA. Mr. Munro, like Mr.
Huffman, lives and farms in
the same community where he
was born and raised and has ta-
ken an active part in church and
community affairs and farm or-
ganizations. He is 48.
Purvis Littlejohn from High-
gate has been elected second
vice-president. He farms in the
same area in which he was born
and raised and he,too, has
made a valuable contribution to
church and community affairs.
Specializing in producing high
quality eggs and growing pota-
toes and corn, Mr. Littlejohn
has pioneered in the field of
packaging new potatoes.
Royal Jumping
Events Will Be
On Television
The glamour and excite-
ment of the Royal Winter Fair's
international horse -jumping
competition between Canada's
International Equestrian Team
and teams representing Brazil,
Argentina, Mexico and the Un-
ited States, will be telecast by
the CTV Television Network
from the Coliseum, Toronto.
The Royal Winter Fair Horse
Show is believed to be the only
sports event in Canada which
annually brings representatives
of five countries in competition.
Top riders and mounts make up
the international teams which
will be seen in preliminary
rounds and finals for one of the
horse -show -world's top honors,
the International Individual
Jumping Championship.
Extend Centennial
Application Date
Deadline for submission of
applications under the Federal -
Provincial Centennial Grants
Program has been extended to
August, 1965.
The new date was announc-
ed by Hon. Maurice Lamon-
tagne, Secretary of State and
Minister responsible for Cen-
tennial Affairs, and Hon. James
Auld, Ontario's minister of
Tourism and Information and
2hairman of the Provincial Cen-
tennial Committee.
It is expected a further
amendment will be added re-
4uiring municipalities to ad-
vise the secretary of the Ad-
visory Committee in writing
)efore March 31, 1965, that an
application will be filed. After
:his date, grants will be based
.n whole or in part on the pop-
ilation of the municipality in-
iolved.
A list of the names and ad-
lresses of the eleven centen-
nial field representatives has
>een sent to all municipal
:lerks. These representatives
lave been appointed by the
>rovince to assist municipal of-
icials in planning projects and
Ring applications. Should the
nunicipalities encounter any
Iroblems with their proposed
:entennial projects they are
Irged to contact the represent-
.tive in their area.
During the last week cen-
ennial personnel were receiv-
ng an average of 12 applica-
ions a day as November 9, the
original closing -date, became
mminent. So far, a total of
8 grants have been approved
or Ontario Centennial projects.
