Machan Whittaker -Hemingway Sharon Wilma Hemingway and Dennis Douglas Whittaker exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony at Mel- ville Presbyterian Church, Brus- sels, performed by Rev. Wm. Morrison. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Heming- way, R. R. 3, Brussels and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Whittaker, Brant- ford. The ceremony was perform- ed before a fall arrangement of gold and bronze mums with ta- pers lighted by the bride's younger brother, Neil Heming- way. The soloist,Cyril Prescott, sung " The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer" accompan- ied by the church organist, Mrs. Frank Thompson. The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a floor -length gown of white peau de soie with shallow scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. A contoured cum- merbund of chantilly lace ac- cented the waistline. A de- tachable train extended from the back of the bell-shaped skirt. Her shoulder length veil of silk illusion was held by a wedding band headdress. She carried a mauve orchid with stephanotis and ivy. Mrs. Peter Roberts, Ottawa, was the maid of honor, dressed in a floor -length gown of gold peau de soie with a gold wed- ding band head piece and veil. Mrs. Peter Hemingway, Listo- wel and Miss Helen Whittaker, were the bridesmaids dressed similarly to the matron of hon- or. John Taylor, Hamilton, was groomsman. Peter Hemingway, D.C, Listowel and George Hen- derson, Kitchener, were ushers. The happy couple left on a trip to Niagara. The bride's costume was a brown and gold tweed suit with brown accessor- ies and gold Toscano hat. The bride attended W.D.H. School and graduated from Brantford General Hospital school of nursing. The groom is attending Hamilton Institute of Technology and the couple will be living at 28 Palmerston Ave. , Brantford, Ontario. Philip Brown was groomsman, Robert Denny and Randy Strang brothers of the bride and groom and Tim Chivers, cousin of the groom were ushers. Mr. Denny gave his daugh- ter in marriage. Her white peau de soie floor length gown had a fitted bodice with round neckline, long lily pointed sleeves, bell skirt, the bodice, hem of the skirt and the chapel train were trimmed with lace. A wedding ring hat of the dress material held her elbow length veil. She carried a cascade of white Belmont gardenias, white stephanotis with trailing ivy, The bridal attendants wore street length dresses of gold peau de soie with fitted bodice, high round neckline, elbow length sleeves, belled skirts, their wedding ring hats of the dress material with short match ing veils. They carried cas- cades of bronze pom poms with golden bronze foliage and gold en sprays of wheat. The bride's mother wore a raspberry red suit with black accessories and white rose cor- sage. The groom's mother wore a light blue suit with blue hat, black accessories and cor- sage of pink sweetheart roses. The reception was held at Har- rison Park Hall. For travel the bride chose a beige dress, contrasting brown coat and accessories and a cluster of talisman roses. Mr. and Mrs. Strang will reside at 727 Errol Road East, Sarnia, Ontario Past Presidents Receive Pins Mrs. Owen King and Mrs. George Skinn, past presidents of the Catholic Women's League, were presented with past presi- dent's pins in recognition of their excellent leadership of the league in the past. Mrs, Smith, president, made the presentation on Tuesday, Octo- ber 13 in Saered Heart Church prior to the monthly meeting, Father Mooney spoke a few words, after which there was benediction and the recitation of the Rosary. Baking or prizes will be do- nated by members at future meetings. These will be raf- fled off to the members as a means of raising money for the Peruvian missions. Also, used stamps will be collected and sent to the Redemptorist Mis- sions. A group of women from Wingham will attend a social evening in Listowel on Wednes- day,October 28, sponsored by the Listowel C, W , L. The fall tea, home produce and bake sale was reported a success. Winners of the prizes this year are as follows: Heirloom throw, Mrs, C, D, Smith, Sea - forth; 100 lb. sugar, Lionel Rich, Toronto; chicken, Al- berta O'Bright; child's smock- ed dress, Mrs. George Skinn, Father Mooney showed some excellent slides concerning the London Diocesan Catholic Missions in Peru, where his brother, Father Paul Mooney, is a missionary, The slides evidenced the great poverty and spiritual desolation of ma- ny people in Peru and the great need for more priests and lay workers in the Peruvian mission field. Upon the resignation of Mrs, H. Beitz as secretary, Mrs. R. Campeau was appointed to take the position. The weekly card parties for the winter season have begun. They will be held every Tues- day evening at 8:30 sharp. Weekly prizes will be given and lunch served. A grand prize to the person with the highest number of points for the whole season will be presented this year. Simpson-Feigel The marriage of Lenore Elda Feigel and Harold Wayne Simpson was solemnized in a double -ring ceremony at Lam- beth United Church, Lambeth, with Rev. A.E. Duffield offi- ciating. The bride is the younger daughter of Mrs. Fred- erick W. Feigel, Kitchener, and formerly of Gorrie and the late Mr. Feigel. They all carried gold fea- thered mums and yellow carna- tions. Terry Jones, London, bro- ther-in-law of the groom, act- ed as best man. Ushers were David Shoebottorn and ltoward Feigel. At the reception held at the Seven Dwarfs Restaurant, the bride's mother received in a cranberry brocaded two-piece dress with a snatching mari- bon pillbox hat arid a corsage of a white orchid and baby car- nations. The groom's Brother wore turquoise chiffon and matching ostrich feathered hat and a cor- sage of a pink orchid and pink baby carnations. For tra yelling the bride chose it brown wool suit with a burnt orange maribou hat and brown accessories. Her corsage was pale green sym helium or- chids. The couple wi11 reside in London. Sacred Heart Church, Walk- erton, was the scene of a pret- ty wedding on Saturday at 10 a, m, when Murray Bryon Timm and Theresa Rita Noll exchanged their vows. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Noll, Walkerton, and the groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs, Harvey Timm, R. R, 1, Bluevale, Rev. Father Walsh performed the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a floor -length gown of silk or- ganza over taffeta, fashioned with long lily -point sleeves and scooped neckline. The front panel, over a full skirt, was accented with seed pearls and sequins. She wore a be- low -shoulder length veil and beaded headdress and carried a cascade of sweetheart roses. The matron of honor, Mrs. Gerald Goll, sister of the bride, wore a street -length gown of Pink of Paris Saha peau. The one piece design featured a fitted bodice, scoop neckline, elbow -length sleeves and con- temporary wrap-around skirt controlled by a bow in front. • A matching headpiece of floral design was enhanced by a face veil and she carried pink and white mums. The bride's mother wore a rich chocolate brown double knit dress with new bow neck- line, antique gold accessories and corsage of gold mums. The groom's mother wore a three- piece teal blue double knit suit, black accessories and cor- sage of white and blue mums Guests were present from To- ronto, Kitchener, Waterloo, Markham, London, Maryhill and Guelph. For their wedding trip to the United States the bride donned a brown and gold wool suit with black accessories and corsage of gold roses, Mr. and Mrs, Timm will reside in Walkerton. IN PUERTO RICO Mark, Cathy and Ross Hisel- er are staying with their uncle and aunt, Mr, and Mrs. Ken Crawford and family while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stan His- eler of Welland are in Puerto Ri- co. Mr. Hiseler has been sent to Puerto Rico on business for the John Deere Company. They left last Sunday and will be away about two weeks. Rummage Sale Nets Over $10Q.00 Last Saturday donors, shop- pers and assistants together helped to make the Hospital Auxiliary rummage sale once again one of the successful community efforts of the au- tumn season. A total of 5'700,87 was raised and this money either will be used to buy items needed at the hospi- tal and not otherwise obtain- able, or will be set aside in the sum with which the Auxiliary looks forward to helping in con- nection with the planned new construction at the Wingbam .and District General Hospital.
