Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tiffin were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ritchie, Miss Lila Emerson of West Wawanosh, Parents Honored Saturday Night WHITECHURCH-Miss Ruth Taylor, Toronto, organized a surprise party on Saturday night when she had all the guests ga- ther at the gate to arrive to- gether to honor her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Taylor on their 25th wedding anniversary. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Taylor of Brantford; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Inrig of Hamilton, Mr. Wil- mer Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Art Hagerman and Brian Beeton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Showers and Glen, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Showers and family and Robt. Gordon of Toronto,. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davis of Toronto could not be present on account of illness and Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor of Churchill were also unable to attend. During the evening, the fa- mily presented the celebrants with a silver tea service, wall mirror and silver butter dish. Gifts received from the other relatives were chest of stainless steel silver ware for setting of eight, sandwich plate, silver bon -bon dish, silver relish dish, silver coloured set of towels, silver bread tray and a beautifully decorated wedding cake. Conn Wed 25 Years WHITECHURCH-Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Simpson of Tees - water, Mr. Stewart Scott, of Langside, Mr. and Mrs. John- ston Conn, Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Scott of Ripley, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Caslick and fa- mily of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coultes and fami- ly, E,ist Wawanosh, Mr, and Mrs. Billie Caslick and family of Culross, Mr. and Mrs.Russel Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cas- lick all gathered on Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn to celebrate with them on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs, Ilarold Johnston and family of Parkhill were un- able to he present for the eve- ning. Mr. and Mrs. Conn were completely taken by surprise when the majority of the guests having gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ross, arrived. During the evening, they were presented with an automatic toaster, swivel rock er, foot stool, lace luncheon cloth, silver jam dish, cup and saucer. A beautiful wedding cake hearing all the 25th decorations was presented. It was prepared by Mrs, Russel Ross and Miss Elaine Conn. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson and Mrs. Maud Haggitt and Miss Linda Johnston of Kitchen- er, Miss Winnifred Farrier of To- ronto, spent the holiday week- end with her mother, Mrs. W. R. Farrier. Students of the University of Western Ontario spending the holiday with their parents were George Conn with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Conn, Miss Muriel and Elwin Moore with Mr. and Mrs. Millan Moore, Murray Coultes with Mr. and Mrs. Ron- ald Coultes, Wayne Martin with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mar- tin. Chalmers Presbyterian W. M.S. will hold a Thankoffering meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Oc- tober 22nd in the school room of the church. The guest speaker will be Miss DeanMc- Leod of Lucknow. Langside W. M, S. , Wingham W. M. S. and the United Church Women have been invited to attend this meeting. Whitechurch W. M. S. has been invited to attend the Thankoffering meeting of the Belgrave W. M. S, on October 19 at 2:30. On the evening of October 19 at 8:30 in Whitechurch Community Memorial Hall, Mrs. Victor Emerson will give a report of the national conven- tion held in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Mrs, Harvey Houston will show slides, On Saturday Mr. Alfred Buekton became ill and was taken by ambulance to Wing- ham and District Hospital, We are pleased to report Mrs. Mary Chapman is much improved ih health and wasable to return home from Wingham and District Hospital, on Satur- day. • Always there with ready cash...
