inq match held near Exeter on Saturday.

Furrow Queen at the Huron County Plow-
ing Match near Exeter on Saturday. She

ton, Oshawa, and their son,
Mr. Lynn Middleton of Whitby
visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Swan.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wag-
staffe and Lyndee of Moncton,
N.B. , who were holidaying
with Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Met-
calfe of Turnberry, left by plane
on Saturday to return to their
homeland.

of Listowel visited on Tuesday

Entertainment
W HITECHURCH- The Ladies'
Aid met at the home of Mr.
Bill Scott on Wednesday eve-
ning. The president, Mrs,
Wesley Young, presided for the
meeting. Mrs. Frank Miller
acted as secretary in the ab-
sence of Mrs. George Conlon,
Mrs. William Evans read the
Scripture. The meditation was
given by Mrs. Bill Scott and
Mrs. Charles Tiffin led in
prayer. Readings were given
by Mrs, Lloyd Moffat, Mrs.
Frank Miller, and Mrs. Charles
Tiffin.
It was planned to have an
evening entertainment and Mrs.
William Scott is to contact
Miss Lois !Hunter as to a date
when she can show her slides
and give con:tnentary of work
with the Indians in B, C, The
meeting was closed by all re-
peating the Lord's Prayer in
unison,

Bride -Elect
WI-IITECHURCII-Miss Win-
nifred Farrier and Mrs. Garnet
Farrier, aunts of the bride-to-
be, Miss Donna Gillespie of
Sarnia, held a miscellaneous
shower in her honour at the
home of Mrs. Garnet Farrier on
Saturday evening.
Miss Winnifred Farrier gave
readings; Mrs. W, R, Farrier,
grandmother of the bride-to-be,
gave an instrumental. Miss
Janis Farrier sang the solo, "A
Hawaiian Love Song." Con-
tests and games were enjoyed
by all.
The bride -elect was placed
in a gaily -decorated chair and
was assisted in opening the ma-
ny gifts and reading of gift
cards by Mrs. Bill McIntyre
and Miss Janis Farrier, Miss
Gillespie thanked the 33 rela-
tives for their lovely gifts and
nieasant evening. The hostes-
ses served lunch,
Zinn, Mrs, Zinn and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber,
Ann, Marlene and Clare spent
Friday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Chambers and fa-
mily of Harriston.
Mr. and Mrs. George Weber
of Kitchener visited on Satur-
day with Mr, and Mrs. Carl
Weber and family.
Miss Ruth Taylor of Toronto
spent the week -end with her

Neighbors Make
Presentation
Friends, relatives andneigh-
bors gathered at 5, S, No. 2,
Culross on Saturday evening to
honour Mr, and Mrs. John
Burchill, who have recently
moved to their new home on
Victoria Street in Wingham.
The evening was spent at pro-
gressive euchre, Mrs. Leslie
Bryce winning high prize for
ladies, the low going to Mrs,
Bob Stobo. Mr. Robt, McKague
won the men's hi,sh prize and
Currie Burchill the low.
After lunch Mr, and Mrs.
Burchill were called to the
front, Ross McRae read the
address and Messrs.George
Marshall, Hugh Armstrong and
Foster Marshall presented
them with a coffee table, step
stool and clothes hamper, Both
Mr. and Mrs. Burchill made
suitable replies, thanking all
for the beautiful gifts. "For
They Are Jolly Good Fellows"
was sung and a most enjoyable
evening was brought to a close.
