FORDWICH-Mrs. Fred Mc- Cann, vice president, conduct- ed the Women's Institute meet- ing in the community hall. De- votions were taken by Mrs. '.iinnie McElwain. Mrs. How- ard Harris discussed the motto, "You have heard, you have read, you have thought but what have you done?" Roll call was "Some project I in- tend to accomplish in educa- tion." The Institute will sponsor the 4-H Homemaking Club and leaders will be Mrs. Scott Clarkson and I\lrs. Elmer Hard- ing. Mrs. Clarence Carswell will be delegate to the area convention in Guelph. The committee is charge of the fair booth is Mrs. S. Bride, Mrs. C. Harris and Mrs. C. Carswell. The Huron County rally will be in Hensall on Oc- tober 5. The Institute will continue to sent cards and boxes to vet- erans in Westminster Hospital. Mrs. John Craig reported on ar- rangements for the Octoberl3th trip to dalton International Airport and Pioneer Village. Miss Lorna Beswetherick of Wingham District High School teaching staff told of her trip to Europe last summer where she spent a great deal of time in France and Ireland. China Cabinet For Newlyweds FORDWICIU-A presentation and dance was held in the com- munity hall Friday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Duncan (formerly Marjorie Con- nell) newlyweds. Miss Margar- et Ann Wilson read the address and the young couple was pre- sented with a china cabinet for which Marjorie: and Keith thanked everyone. Anniversary services at the St. Helens Church were held on Evening Unit FORDWICH- The Evening Unit of the U.C. W. met in the basement of Fordwich United Church with twelve members present. Mrs. Scott Clarkson opened the meeting with a hymn and prayer. "God's Bank Ain't Busted Yet" was the poem read by Miss L. Matthews. Mrs. L. Lough- ran read the Scripture followed by prayer by Mrs. H. Doig. Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Seifert, Mrs. Pollock and Mrs. Clarkson introduced the study book on Brazil. Lunch was served by Mrs. Ben Gibson and Mrs. Bob Gib- son. FORDWICH Mrs. Robert Dunn and baby daughter of R.R. 4, Harriston are spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Klink. Mrs. Earl Moore visited several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Benin at Till- sonburg. Mrs. Roy Simmons returned hong Thursday after spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wildfang in Cooksville. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll John- son visited over the week -end with :•.;r. and Mrs. Murray Kirkby in Kingston. Gibson Family Honor Relatives FORDWICII-Descendants of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gibson held a social time in the: Fordwich Community Hall on Sunday afternoon in honor of Miss Barbara Brase of Glen- dale, California, who has just returned from touring Europe. Miss Brase is a great grand- daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gibson. Guests were present from Kitchener, Listowel, Moles- worth, Gordis and Fordwich.
