Miss Mildred McClenaghan Reg. N., left on Monday to assist at the office of Dr. tlilta of Milton until he secured some other help, Mrs. Dan Tiffin, Barry, Joyce and Mr. Joe Tiffin ac- companied Mrs.` Orville Tiffin to London on Friday for a check-up. We are pleased to report Mrs. Tiffin is slowly re- covering from her major opera- tion. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Em- erson returned home on Thurs- day evening after visiting rel- atives at Lenore, Man., Biggar and Saskatoon, Sask., and Vancouver. They report wet weather on the prairies and the Kuiper Family Returns to Mich. W HITECHURCH-Jacob Kuiper, student minister, preached his farewell sermon at Chalmers Presbyterian Church on Sunday. Mr. Kuiper, his wife and family, left for Holland, Michigan this week where he will return to the se- minary to continue his studies. He has been in charge here for the past year. At the close of the service, Walter Elliott read an address and Andrew Gaunt presented Mr. and Mrs. Kuiper with a white Bible and a gift of money from the congregation. Mr. Kuiper thanked the church members for their gifts, and also for the reception for his family when they arrived last year. He said that the co-operation and fellowship had been the best possible. The Langside congregation presented Mr. and Mrs. Kuiper with a plaque. THE DOCTOR SAYS f CAN BE UP TOMORROW. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coultes of Whitechurch are the grand- parents. W.I. Bus Trip GORRIE-Thirty women en- joyed the Women's Institute bus trip last Wednesday. They went by Pike Lake, Mount For- est and Shelburne to Colling- wood where they were conduct- ed through a canning factory and a furniture factory. The ladies had lunch in the park and in the afternoon visited a furniture shop, pottery and Women's Institute Museum. They journeyed on to Owen Sound where the ladies shopped and had dinner. Lacies' ATG BLUEVALE-The meeting of the W.M.S. of Knox Church was held at the home of Mrs. William Robertson. Ten ladies answered the roll call. The president, Mrs. B. Thomas pre- sided. The theme of the meet- ing was "The Challenge". A hymn was sung with Mrs. H. Robertson as pianist. The secretary, Mrs. R. J. McMurray read the minutes. There was a discussion regard - Corrie Personals Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gilmar, Vana Lee and Ricky, Ancaster, visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gowdy. Mr. and Mrs. George Richard- son and Judy, Toronto, spent the week -end with Mrs. Margaret Willets. Mrs. Donald Leader, Mrs. Elmer Farrish and Mrs. Harry Gowdy spent Saturday in Guelph. Mrs. Edith Adams, Sudbury, is spending some time with Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Farrish. Mrs, Wm. Thurlow, of Mc- Adam, N.B., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Under- wood, and Mr. Underwood. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gowdy, Mr. and Mrs. James Doig, Wrox- eter, attended the horse races in Goderich on Labour Day. Mr. Donald Searson, Toronto, spent the week -end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Searson. Mr. and Mrs. John Will, Janice and John of Kings- ville, visited Sunday at the same home. Mr, Thos. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Barlow, Debra, Rodney and Douglas of Fordnvich, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Latron- ica. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft and family of East Wawanosh Township visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Hector Hamilton. Miss Janice Elschner has re- turned after spending a couple of weeks with her grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. John Harper, of St. Paul's. Mrs. Wilfred Kieffer, Ethel and Mrs. George Brown visited Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Morrison at Fullarton on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hart, Doug- las and Dale of Oshawa attended the funeral of her aunt, Miss Verna Harris, and spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Mac Newton. BLUEVALE Mr. Hugh Mundell has been accepted as a student in the degree course of Royal Mil- itary College of Canada at Kingston. Ile left on Thursday to enrol there. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Thornton and family motored to Ottawa last week to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leeson of that c ity. Miss Julia Thornton will remain there to attend Teach- ers' College. Mr. Glenn Garniss, of Hamilton, was a visitor in the village last week. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Mlitehcll and family have re- turned to Nova Scotia after spending a tnonth with their parents, Rev. G.C. Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell. Recent holiday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nlundell have been Miss Lynne Bedford and Mr. lan Mundell, both of Ottawa. The title of the study was "Outward through Evangelism", based on information from re- ports of missionaries in India and other material. Mrs. El- liott was assisted by Mrs. R.J. McMurray. The topic was in the form of discussion and em- phasized the idea that the church is really God's mission to the world. The Ladies' Aid meeting was held immediately following the W.M.S. The president, Mrs. Harry Elliott presided. In the absence of the secretary, Mrs. E. Kirton, Mrs. Gordon Mundell recorded the minutes. Mrs. B. Moffatt, treasurer, read the financial statement. Mrs. Ross Mann volunteer- ed to be responsible for the church flowers during Septem- ber and Mrs. B. Moffatt and Mrs. McMurray for October. It was decided to have a tea and sale of baking and novelties in the basement of the church, November 20th. Refreshments were served by the host,;sses, Mrs. Les . Greenaway and Mrs. H. Robert- son. Explorers Meet BLUEVALE-The Explorers opened their meeting with the motto and roll call answered with Scripture. There was a good attendance. The offering was received by Paul O'Neil with prayer of- fered by Raymond Wright. The story of The Golden Coin was continued. Mission Band BLUEVALE-The Mission Band of Knox Presbyterian Church met during church ser- vice on Sunday morning when 15 members and four visitors at- tended. Barbara Brentreceived the offering which was dedicated with unison prayer. Mrs. Ross assisted the juniors with their work and Mrs. Mann read" The Heroine'to the seniors.
