Baylor of Fordwich, Mr. and Mrs. Robt, Hibberd, Fordwich, and Miss Glenna Hibberd, of Once Befriended, Places Headstone WHITECHL'RCH-William Simmons of Royal Oak, Mich., recently placed a headstone at the unmarked grave of Nathan- iel Bradely in Tiffin's Cemet- ery, Over 40 years ago, when Mr. Bradely was worth a quart- er of a million dollars, he be- friended Mr. Simmons. Mr. Simmons returned to Manitoba 40 years later to find his old friend. He learned that Mr. Bradely had lost all his wealth and had gone to his sister in the east, who was Mrs. Marg- aret Pinnell. Mr. Bradely was buried in the Pinnell plot in Tiffin's Cemetery and it is here that Mr. Simmons placed the head- stone in memory of his friend. eta Kitchener, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Baylor. Reception Held In Community Hall WHITECHURCH-On Fri- day evening a reception was held in Whitechurch Commun- ity Memorial Hall for the new- lyweds Mr, and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul. The bride is the form- er Lila Black. A large crowd of friends, relatives and neigh- bours were present and at the lunch hour Mr. and Mrs. Rin- toul were called to the plat- form. They were given seats of honor while Alex Craig ad- dressed them and John Willis presented a gift of money. Both Mr. and Mrs. Rintoul thanked the gathering for their kindness in remembering them and for the evening of enter- tainment provided. Dancing was enjoyed to music by Tiffin's Orchestra and Fred Deacon and Oscar Shefter managed the calling off. East Wawanosh Council Meeting Reeve E. R. Snell presided at the regular meeting of East Wa- wanosh Township. It was mov- ed that A. M. Harper, auditor, receive $350.00 for the 1964 audit of township books and that the audit be done earlier next year. W.S. Gibson was at the meeting to renew the township's liability insurance, which was raised from $100,000,00 to $200, 000.00. ROAD CHEQUES: C. W. Whitechurch News Mrs. George Thompson visited Sunday in War Memor- ial Hospital, London, with her son, Charles, who recently had an operation for ruptured ap- pendix. Mrs. Thompson re- ports Charles is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Pur - don were in London on Sunday where Mrs. Purdon was admit- ted to Victoria Hospital for a check up. Mrs. Mary Chapman Sr. who suffered a fall in her home and recently was amitted to Wingham and District Hospital is improving. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Milan Moore were Rev. and Mrs. George Watt, Wendy, Donald, Valerie, Virginia, Heather, and Melanie of Oak - HANDICRAFTS made at the Playground this summer were on display at the swimming pool on Thursday night as the children demonstrated their swimming lessons to a Targe crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mc- Clenaghan have returned home as Mrs. A. J. Walker had to be admitted to Wingham and Dis- trict llospital. Mr, and Mrs. Walter James and Leonard of Wood- stock spent the holiday with her father, Mr. Arthur Moore. Mr. John Coffin spent the summer holidays with the Stu- dent Military Highland Light Infantry at Galt and received a certificate for passing all ex- ams and tests.
